Almost five years ago I posted about this blend, but the thread was closed a few years after, I presume due to inactivity. An alert member caught wind of it, and the game was on. Finally, this gallant member made it over to Carmel, where we enjoyed some time at the Carmel Pipe Shop, and a bowl or two by the ocean.
The tin he presented me with has to be at least 30 years old, and the contents were very dry, but not dust. Rehydrated a few ounces to 60% RH, and am now smoking a bowl. The company who sold it, Harry S Tint and Sons, Philadelphia, went out of business decades ago.
Review: Nothing like I remembered. It's very soft all the way around. But a nice smoke! Can't taste even a hint of Lat or Perique, which if memory serves, were in the blend. The nostalgia is where it's at for me, and I am grateful for Les's diligence in following up, and the gift. I tried to reciprocate, but he already had pounds of the stuff I brought to give him. Thanks again, Les, you da man!
