Can anyone recommend any bulk VA/OR blends? I like C&D Bijou, but wondering if there is anything I'm missing with any bulk offerings. Thanks.

Low Country Natural Virginia & Oriental is the cheapest VaOr blend, when I buy a bag it rarely makes it into a jar. It's just C&D red Virginia and Izmir Turkish, uncomplicated, but I like it in the summer when it's hot out.

I second Oriental Silk. As for Low Country, its been out of stock for some time. Seems to be a going theme with so many blends. I will add that if you like English blends, Watch City Cigars offers oriental forward blends. Persian Slipper has a good amount of VA and my favorite Ahabs Comfort.
A sleeper ( but not bulk) I really like is Miskatonic Mixture using Katerini.
I'll add Orion's Arrow and Ramback Gold.
Anyone know if oriental silk is similar to sun bear? Wondering because that sun bear is just fantastic and no longer available!
I don't think it is, but Sun Bear will likely be available again next year. Seems to be an annual release.
Yeah, I missed it first time around and bought several tins on the last drop but I was looking for something similar to it to explore the VA/OR.

Go cheap and try Low Country Natural Virginia and Oriental. It's under twenty bucks a pound.
Ernie at Watch City will have new blend out in November called Simply Virginia/Oriental. I was the taste tester for it, and it's really good.
Here's what Ernie said: We've made enough Simply Red to act as a base for the VA/OR I've been talking about. November release, I believe. Then there's the one I call "English Ernie-ental" which is already aging. It's an English blend with Macedonian Prilep. I want that one to really harmonize, so we're looking at January.

I buy a pound of low country Virginia and oriental and add a small amount of Picayune and mix it.

Yenidge Highlander is a Latakia blend.
Good stuff, but be informed.
Peter Stokkebye 84 Turkish is pretty darn good. I have some that has 6 years age on it that's heavenly.
Actually an Oriental with condiment latakia, barely any in it. I rarely notice it when I'm smoking it, more the Virginias and Yenidje with little to no latakia to ruin it. If you really want to split hairs though, latakia itself is an Oriental.
