Bulk VA/OR Recommendations

I buy a pound of low country Virginia and oriental and add a small amount of Picayune and mix it.

Excellent and highly recommended.

Otherwise both oriental silk and Orion's Belt by Cornell and Diehl.

Also Ramback Balkan by D&R.

As a huge Va/Or and Va/Per/Or fan, unfortunately there isn't alot of bulk options. If you're willing to talk tins then I'll lay a list on ya. I'm heavily cellared in them.

Thanks. I was looking to add some VA/OR blends to my mason jars, so I am going to add those to my list. I have some Bijou and also some GLP Cairo put away.

Just a note:
Yenidge Highlander is a Latakia blend.
Good stuff, but be informed.

Thanks. I'm not a huge latakia fan. I like mostly straight VA's and Mac Baren's Scottish Mixture, then throw in the occasional VA/PR and VA/OR to mix it up.

Actually an Oriental with condiment latakia, barely any in it. I rarely notice it when I'm smoking it, more the Virginias and Yenidje with little to no latakia to ruin it. If you really want to split hairs though, latakia itself is an Oriental.

Black Frigate is another Virginia/Oriental with barely any latakia. It does have rum though.?

Peter Stokkebye 84 Turkish is pretty darn good. I have some that has 6 years age on it that's heavenly.

Just finished a bowl of Star of The East Gold, it has latakia in it, but very little. It's an OR/VA where the orientals are out in front of the virginias by a hair with the latakia in the background

Can anyone recommend any bulk VA/OR blends? I like C&D Bijou, but wondering if there is anything I'm missing with any bulk offerings. Thanks.

I'm in the same boat as you - loving VaOr blends, but somewhat stymied on bulk options. Oriental Silk is good stuff, I like C&D Sunday Picnic a bit better. If Latakia doesn't turn you off, strongly recommend Sutliff Match BS 759/H&H Blackhouse.

If you're willing to put up with Estervals, Dan Tobacco Ascanian No 1 is the best VaOr I've smoked. Oriental Silk is good. If you would order from Esterval, but some things of HU Jochis Oriental Sunrise. Watch City Persian Slipper is very good. You're limiting yourself with bulk. GL Please Temple bar is good. If you're not stuck on strictly VaOr and open to a similar flavor profile, try Dreams of Kadath and Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding Reserve.
