So I ran out of coffee ground today so is it OK to brew tea thru a drip pot. I normally us one bag and steep it

Best to just boil 6 cups of water and steep as many tea bags for 2-5 minutes. — any longer and your tea will be too tannic. — unless you like it that strong.
It'll be "OK" but getting results might be tricky. Don't think the water will be dripping through the tea leaves for long enough to get you a strong enough cup of tea.
Warmed pot, freshly drawn and boiled water, brew time is four minutes for a breakfast tea. Simples!
Have always used a 4-cup Mr Coffee drip pot dedicated to tea. Always makes a great cuppa. No muss, no fuss. Always preferred to use loose tea in the basket, but it even brews good tea when I place 2 bags in the basket.
Well it turned out OK not the best but I thru a few coffee grounds in to boot maybe a spoonful not the best but vet me thru til the wife goes to the store.
I've actually acquired a couple of those metal insulated clan pots from England. Cool pots. One has a glass strainer.
I had a friend who brewed his tea in a coffee pot. Three or four tea bags in the basket for a pot of water. He used cheap Lipton tea, but it was to his liking. It wasn't strong enough for my tastes. I was staying at his place for a fishing trip and was pretty surprised to find weak tea dripping through the coffee maker instead of coffee at 4am. Good thing the bait shop had coffee, although I think they brewed it with minnow tank water.

My wife uses that method when she makes a pitcher of tea. Don't ask me why. She uses a bunch of bags and it comes out fine.
Sometimes I have mine Indian style - loose leaf put into a mix that's more milk than water and simmered with ginger and cardamon for a good while.

I get loose tea and enjoy some on occasion.

I have been inspired. Grand daughter experiencing a tea latte made of Wagh Bakkri. No good to her. Says it tastes like coffee.
