"Carjack" starring Terry Saveloy, he'd shout "Sapirsteeeen!" and stick a lolly in his gob. Should have smoked a pipe, chilled out a bit.

Returning to a smoke after a long break can be 100% joy; in my experience, it was a case of rehab each time and searching for the old flavours. Depends on the kind of mangle one has endured, I think. If you can come straight back into full power, bliss.

Breakfast?

I hope the perp was caught.
Nope. Serves me right for taking my dog out without my gun. I was living on the Hilltop of Tacoma at the time. I had just gotten home late from my unit and had to get my dog out. It was drizzling and 38 degrees on December 22. Luckily I had put my phone, wallet, and keys down and was talking on my military phone when I took my chihuahua out. We were just past the house when someone ran up. I was talkingon the phone and turned to see the gun. All he got was my work phone. He was mad. I was mad. But I was also nervous. It was just after Fergusen, MO and this kid was black and I was deeep in Crip territory. I was worried he would just plug me. He made me turn around and get on my knees and bounced. Chihuahuas make for shit guard dogs.

P.S. I ran home, grabbed my 12 gauge and drove my neighborhood lookiung for him. I apparently called my buddy who was a deputy like 3 counties north of me for advice, but was so furious I didn't remember until he reminded me after. 3 week later, I went to see a counselor buddy of mine and told him the story. I said that it was a good thing I had had some time to calm down. He looked at me funny and asked me to look down at my hands. They were white knuckled on the chair, 3 weeks later. I had calmed down, from killing mad to just furious. I am honestly glad I never found that kid or his driver. I would absolutely be in prison.

To let you know what kind of neighborhood it was, I walked my dog for the next two weeks with my shotgun in the middle of Tacoma and no one called the cops on me or reacted in any way.

As long as he didn't go to Memphis apparently.
I moved a friend (drove his Uhaul) from Vancouver, WA to a small town just south of Knoxville. Instead of going straight home, my dad flew into TN and we did a 7 day, 1900 mile tour of the state. In each area, I met with a realtor. When we returned to WA, we used zillow (some) and realtor.com(a lot) to find properties. If we found one we liked, we contacted the realtor from the area I had met to go get 'real' pictures, etc. Memphis and Nashville were out because I have divergent opinions with those areas. Chatanooga has vehicle emissions testing, which I find a waste of government. We settled on a town outside Jackson, TN. I live off a dirt road (something I honestly didn't think happened anymore) on a small farm and it is paradise. Not being in Memphis has the added bonus of not being in a crime ridden craphole (albeit with great BBQ).

The tipping point for our move was driving to the plumbing supply store and finding myself in the middle of an armed Antifa rally in a suburb of Vancouver, WA. I didn't spend 22 years on the wall protecting from without only to see it slip away from within, so to speak. That was in October of '20 and we liquidated everything of ours and my dad (can't leave your battle buddy behind) and were moved and settled by May 10th, 2021.
