"Born Again" Pipe Smoker from the U.K.

Hi all. Returned to pipes about a year ago after a 30 year break. Quit through peer pressure back in the day and went back to the tabs. Quit those for 17 years but lately decided I wanted the contemplative pleasure of proper tobacco smoking back again.
Fully settled into the pipe world now and building up a fine collection of briars.

It's an expensive hobby but the pleasures are hard to overstate and difficult to explain to the unititiated. It will be nice to share thoughts with others who get it.
Currently enjoying a bowl of Gawith Hoggarth Coffee and Caramel in a little Rattrays briar.

No, the lady was fine with it. Well, she didn't say she wasn't, anyway. It was friends my own age who thought I was mad and turning into an old man. That matters when you're 25. Couldn't care less now. I was going to wait til I was 70 before taking up the pipe again. But I've jumped the gun as I'm only 56.

Tabs are cigarettes. Sorry, northern England slang.
