My pet peeve probably won't win me any friends here, but here it goes... Forum begging for samples. I just find this such a tasteless act. Samples should be offered; never asked for. I see this across several forums and if they don't just outright ask, they try to disguise it under some form of a sob story with the clear hope people will send them stuff. Pipe smokers on these forums are a generous lot and seems like some tend to take advantage of that and sometimes I don't think they even realize they are doing it. Its just instinct.
Bottom line, if you cant afford tobacco, you probably shouldn't be smoking.

Biggest pipe smoking pet peeve: People watching me smoking a pipe and then asking me if I am an old man... I have been trying to take it as a compliment and see it as them commenting on me being more mature than they are. Tobacco in the mouth is also not the greatest.
tjameson, have you tried the BJ Long tapered extra fluffy pipe cleaners and their bristled ones? I have been using those for a long time and find they are really good. The only problem with them is on a couple of my older pipes, the stem hole is small and I have to use the Dill's on them.
This reminds me of another pet peeve, a stem that is so small it will not take a extra fluffy cleaner. I have an older( 1970's ) Caminetto, and my 2 Willmers that won't take a fluffy, and it is annoying.
Another is a pipe that won't pass a pipe cleaner, that to me is an abomination. I have a Mastro De Paja and a Meer that won't pass a cleaner. I bought both of those very early on in my pipe buying and didn't realize it was a big deal to me. The Mastro smokes good but I don't reach for it very much because of that. My son smokes it more than I do.

My biggest pet peeve of all has nothing to do with pipes. I'll get to that, but hands down, my biggest pet peeve is idiots that drown everything they eat in ranch dressing. I'm waiting for one of these dipsh!ts to accidentally eat one of their fingers because they got ranch dressing on it and mistook it for food :rofl:
My pipe pet peeve is... When I smoke a tart and tangy blend, My mouth waters excessively. I love those blends the most, but have to smoke them out of straight pipe or I'll salivate down the stem.

Another pet peeve I have, and this is the biggest one of all, is to be ignored. I'd rather be told to eff off than to be ignored.
Hahaahah.... Yea, It can be problematic.lol I have to have a tissue on hand when I smoke heavy Perique blends.
