As the world hurdles from a population of 6 billion to a projected 9 billion in fifty years we will all experience less liberty. As systemic entities become more and more complex regulation is an inevitable result. Sad, but true. Now, back to cigar and pipe news!

JackBoot was used as a "vivid" adjective, plus it's fun to say out loud "Jackboot Jackboot Jackboot." Lol.
How much of Fisher's book goes over Feudalism, sure it's a great read thanks for the recommendation will check it out. Note made on list of books to read.
Reality check, there will always be some sort of regulatory oversight, I'd rather the oversight be done mostly by competition and my wallet. To steer the boat in the right direction a huge turn has to be made and an argument has to be made for Lassiez Faire. I still stand by observations already made.
I hope The technocrats will back off, Pence may be the right set of ears. Who knows.
As far as Liberty, well, only the Civil Society can offer that. Woodsroad, is probably right.
Back to the shop to make my pussy cap.

Who in this country really knows what Liberty is?
Well, we now have the bizarre and incomprehensible spectacle of western women protesting in favor of Islam and sharia law. That ought to tell you something.

I would hazard to guess that 95% of the US population would be scared shitless if they suddenly had real Liberty. Liberty sounds like a nice idea, but most people would prefer to give it up for safety (and thus deserve neither, to paraphrase Mr. Franklin).

I think the number of marchers who want Sharia Law was miniscule. The main point of the march was the treatment of women's liberties (they are threatened ranging from unequal pay to having NO access to contraception) and the denial they have a right choose their own path.
The guy in the video was connecting unrelated dots and glossing over facts with no regard for details. So what if some get strength from their religion, which is different than tribal culture.
Love the Franklin quote, I believe it applies.
Done.

Dang! Mayfair laid out the agenda better than the folks at the march that I saw giving interviews about why they were there.

@mayfair: Neither I nor the video were referencing the DC protest only and specifically...which is why I said "western" women. Much more of this kind of thing has been going on in Europe but the American MSM doesn't cover it...but it is certainly a growing trend now here in the U.S. as well.

I saw no one protesting for Sharia Law. I did see a number of women protesting against a Christian Fundamentalist version of it.

I think I must have missed something, so please bring me up to speed. Where is it that there is NO access to contraception?

to having NO access to contraception

............Abstinence?
It is  that this administration wants to pull insurance coverage for contraception but there's no question about it paying for Viagra.

Ah, I see. Someone somewhere is equating insurance not paying for birth control pills with barring you from walking to Walgreens and buying a box of rubbers. Got it.
EDIT: My confusion was based on thinking of some place like Ghana, where any woman can't go to any number of free clinics and, no questions asked, get free contraceptives, you know, like they can in the US or Canada.
