Total myth. Pick a blend you love and enjoy. From a technical aspect what tobacco goes best in a pot type pipe like the 55?
I haven't smoked a Castello, but I had picked up the idea that Pots were best suited to English and Oriental/Balkan blends. I have discovered that I really enjoy straight Virginias in them. From a technical aspect what tobacco goes best in a pot type pipe like the 55?
That defines many of my dedications other than pipes i had commissioned for blends.?Simply because that was the first bowl I had in it. And it sang.
I see you're a man of culture.I have discovered that I really enjoy straight Virginias in them.
The magic of wool and stubble. How the hell do you stay up there!?!?!?

Just out of curiosity... if you're of the opinion that dimensions have no relationship to blend smoking quality, what guided you in determining what to commission for a given blend. That defines many of my dedications other than pipes i had commissioned for blends.?
Whimsy. I commissioned a volcano for a piratey rum blend, a blowfish(asian fish) for an Oriental blend, another blowfish for a blend called Angler's Dream, and so on. I bought this pipe for Symphony just because of the music note on the stem.Just out of curiosity... if you're of the opinion that dimensions have no relationship to blend smoking quality, what guided you in determining what to commission for a given blend.
Cheers.
Preach! No offence to anybody, but sometimes I really think we over think these things. I say experiment until you find the blend you enjoy smoking with the pipe. I smoke mostly Virginia and VaPer flakes, and I enjoy both in my 55's. Enjoy your pipe!
