Best Light Weight Pipes?

Looking for a quality light weight straight pipe for every day use? Cobs are good just trying to expand into briars. Any suggestions?

Check out Foundation by Musico on smokingpipes. High quality pipes, traditional shapes, smaller sizes.

I highly recommend Kaywoodie Saxons and Red Root. The price is low, in the $45 to $55 range. They are light weight, well made, open-draw, and while they have thin chamber walls they are excellent insulators. Mine just don't get hot.

I also find Johs pipes have some of the same qualities. They are about twice the price, but still moderately priced.

Rossi, the Savinelli sub-brand, makes good pipes at a savings, with the same above-mentioned qualities.

Cobs and straight Falcons with Bantam sized bowls. The mouthpieces are small and comfortable, they sit when you put them down, and any drool will be captured in the humidome. These were my go-to pipes when I was a carpenter and my hands were occupied
Oh, and the bits can't oxidize!

I like Briarworks Pipes. I have a Straight Belge from them that is very light.

Also, look at a Meerschaum pipe. Meerschaum is incredibly light relative to the size.

Peterson Irish Made Army 406. Small, light, easy to take apart, really nothing bad to say about this pipe. Tad on small size chamber.

I love the Army 406, and can get an hours smoke from mine if I sip. If I want a long smoke, it's the Army 86. Both of mine are acrylic fishtail.

Go to your local brick and mortar and ask to look at his basket pipes. Should be able to pick a pipe for $25 or so. Or if no brick and mortar go to smokingpipes.com and look at estate pipes. Don't let the high prices fool you they have a number of sub-$100 pipes particularly in the Irish pipes.

I second the briarworks belge/cutty idea, I have one also, fold and stuff a flake and it's one hour off bliss.

Ropp has several inexpensive, lightweight options.

I second both of the above suggestions.
I have a featherweight Stanwell and a couple of very light French briars (not Ropp)

Also almost all online retailers give the weight of the pipe along with the dimensions.

90% of my pipes are 30g or less.
I'll second the Foundation/Musico pipes as great quality briars that are consistently in that weight range.

You didn't say your ideal cost range. The Musicos range in the $200-$275 mostly.

I second the Morgan Bones. Also I sent in for the Medico filter pipe offer and they sent a very nice lightweight straight pipe. But unfortunately you don’t get to choose, it’s the luck of the draw.

Depending on what is your budget, but aside from being great smokers White Spot Dunhills are usually light weight also French Ropp brand,and a majority of older estate Britwoods are light
