Ive found that the more you like the actual flavor, the less you'll like the artificial flavor.

I grow both kiwis and strawberries. Side by side in a taste test, I bet most couldn't tell the difference.
I may have mentioned this before but I really like cult blood red moon for the cherry. Ymmv
I have not tried it but seven seas red might be good. Their other ones I've tried are pretty great straight forward tasty aromatics that are a treat but not quite candy 
On those very rare occasions when I think a Cherry blend might be nice, I go to the drug store and buy a pouch of Paladin Black Cherry. I come home and grab the ancient tub of Prince Albert from the cellar and mix about 60-40 PA to Paladin. It really makes a decent smoke with a pleasant cherry blend aroma.

This thread twisted my arm enough to smoke some McClelland M-27 Three Cherries this evening.

Gawith Hoggarth Cherry Vanilla is my favourite pipe tobacco; especially enjoyed it in my clay pipe when I went to see Lace Wars at Cromford Mill last year. This is the event I went to:

I haven’t found a cherry one I really enjoyed yet. However K&K 66 blend is one of my favourite aros (needs a good bit of drying though) It’s Creme de Cassis topped, might be an alternative if you can’t find one that hits the right notes.
Blood Red Moon is my favorite cherry blend thus far. Have a bunch of cherry samples including tk6, very cherry, Kendal cherry flake, low country cherry, and paladin.
The Kendal Cherry Flake is a good one as well but has a very light cherry background on the 1oz sample and would recommend to anyone skeptical of cherry blends since it's a great introduction to the genre IMO.

it's not unusual for people to leave forums like this or just not get on them for a while. Or maybe he's in real life jail and will come back with a crazy story.
I talked with Funkenhouser trying to get him to come back. He seemed disinterested in the idea... but maybe he'll change his mind at some point. I miss having him around.
unless you offer him cookies or other bribes not much convincing to be done. People often get what they wanted out of a forum and are done.

Best I've had is Cult BRM. Highly recommended for a cherry aro, and I can see others on here concur. Worst I've had is CAO Cherrybomb. Steer clear. You'll need a carwash sponge to collect the dottle if you try it.
Barclay-Rex has their house cherry,which is arguably the best I've had (back in the day),then Ken Byron,Ventures Cherry is OK,too. I smoke cherry only on occasion.
