Beard, clothes, hair, carpet, drapes it's all the same, permeating and often is distasteful to some. Your wife probably has a decent point.
I wouldn't argue that she doesn't! (even if I wanted to haha)

I only smoke outside though, so hopefully drapes and carpet don't suffer that much.

Now is the time to work out some sort of mutually agreeable smoking rules. A dedicated room, closer attention to personal hygiene, smoking jacket, and more could all be in play. Time to talk and work out something agreeable to all parties. Well, unless you were a pipe smoker when you met her and she knew what she was getting into. That is an entirely different matter.

How do you gentlemen deal with beard smell, especially after smoking Latakia-heavy blends? My wife doesn't enjoy the aroma nearly as much as I do, unfortunately.
Either switch blends to something you both like, quit smoking, or get a different wife.

I don't have a beard and I smell of whatever I smoked despite smoking outside. It's a screened-in porch, so it's not total open-air, but it's not trapped in a room either. But how strongly I smell depends on what it is I had.

There's really no avoiding picking up the scents, but as others have pointed out, it won't just be the beard. Anything you try to put on will only mask the smell at best (or mix with it at worst), and the only way to lose it is waiting or cleaning.

I've considered picking up a smoking jacket at some point to use use with heavy English blends or something. My wife has no complaints about any of the more pungent stuff I have, but she does wish I would smoke in the living room when I am having Devil's Holiday (but I just personally can't smoke indoors, not without heavy air movement). Anyway, I personally don't like the lingering scent on myself after smoking heavy English.

Maybe anything that she doesn't like, get a small pipe and smoke something like Ennerdale or Devil's Holiday for 10 minutes as a chaser. 😜

I can imagine the hassle that this presents for many of you with thick and full beards. Personally, I have a moustache with chin beard that I keep fairly closely trimmed. As a result, I can easily wash it whenever I wash my face.

Of course, having a complete disregard for personal hygiene helps, too.... :ROFLMAO:
