Mike:
I can also add that Kyle returned everyone of my phone calls, emails and PM's and quickly. He always came up with some plausible (but now wild sounding) excuse as to why the pipe had not arrived. On the phone, he was earnest, polite and concerned. Of course, about halfway thru the month long ordeal, I knew that he never had possession of the pipe that he send pictures to trade. So, that was interesting on how long he kept up the farce. The excuses were and communications from him were plentiful:
- The post office was closed, I'll mail it after Christmas
- I was busy, didn't get to it today.
- I shipped the pipe and will send tracking
- Did you get the pipe?
- I guess it was lost, I'll find the tracking number
- the USPS receipt is at my office
- No, its not at my office, it must be in my car
- I lost the USPS receipt, but shipped it insured with tracking
- The Post Office can't locate my tracking
- I'll send your pipe back tomorrow
- I didn't get a chance to mail your pipe, but will tomorrow
- I mailed your pipe, here is the tracking (that tracking number was never shipped)
- Because of a family emergency, I could not mail your pipe but will tomorrow
- Then, the last communication was a new tracking number, which indeed was shipped.
When I confronted him by phone, after I knew something had been mailed, he admitted to being Kyle Black but swore he had the GBD and lost it. He even went so far as to tell me he thinks someone had a similar GBD in Houston, that me might be able to get and trade. From the tone of his voice, I think he really believes all these fairy tales and lies, hence my comment that he might have some mental health issues. He really did seem earnest in all of our discussions, which were probably more than I posted above.
