The world is not a safe place unless every country is afraid of losing a war, any war.
The problem with this is that it is the kindergarten teacher insisting that we all get along at any cost.
There's a high price for this: problems do not get addressed because aggression is demonized.
They smoulder, and then explode later.
As we're seeing now.
I don't think it makes any more sense to be anti-war than anti-killing. Sometimes, bad guys need to be killed.

That's not a problem with my statement or the teacher. The problem is with the parents who accept the local school district curriculum. Parents who never monitor a class. Parents are supposed to meddle in the doings of the school district. How many of our members have stopped by their child's school and sat in on a class or two? If they accept it, they are as, if not more, complicit as the teacher. Fie on them!
Anti-war is a great position to take as long as one understands that might and the willingness to apply that might is the only way to prevent someone from waging war on you. As I've said before, there are predators and there are prey. Some people are comfortable being prey and living with fear. Talking, submission, the unwillingness to defend one's self and family only emboldens the predator.
God bless the defender, the warrior who understands that freedom can be expensive.

It was intended as metaphor, but that didn't come through in the post. The point is that if you make your goal "no wars," you doom yourself to acceptance of permanent conflicts.
On this:

Who couldn't agree? But you see the psychology of democracy here: you vote, and then you accept the consequences. Like a sportsball game, sometimes it goes the wrong way and you just live with it.
I am blown away by how dumbed down the curriculum is here. On memorization, they're really good. Depth? Insight? Creativity? All D.O.A.

We've definitely seen that in the last century. Lots of wars to end all wars. And then... more wars. Conflict is eternal and the sooner we accept that, the happier we'll be.
