A couple of bowls of H&H's Louisiana Red . (With just a couple of bowls of Red left, I decided to mix in some bulk Izmir and Latakia. OK, but blending won't be my second career.)
Followed it up with a couple of bowls of G&H's Curly Cut Regular in a Peterson bulldog.

So my niece made my sister buy me a box/"luxury" pouch of PA. So I thought I would give it a go in my stercast bent billiard (very small pipe) and I guess I will give a little review.
When I opened the box the first thing that I smelled were raisins, and boy was it strong. I love raisins so this wasn't a problem. It was a little too moist so I took a good pinch and let it sit out for about 20 minutes. After that I loaded up my pipe and lit her up...

At first all I was getting was the slight taste of rasins, but after the first few minutes I stated getting a very mild rasin and nut flavor that was extremely pleasant. And that lasted until the last 1/4 bowl. At this point it tasted just like a cigarette and it stayed that way until the bottom of the bowl.

My sister and my niece both claimed the room note was the same as cigarettes. It smoked dry and cool and it had no tounge bite and not much after taste. It left almost nothing for me to clean out of my pipe.
Over all I will say that this is a nice pleasant smoke (and cheap) for those days when I don't want to have to think about how I am smoking and what I am smoking.

The last of the PS Black Currant. Was going to smoke it in the grand duke, but the bowl wasn't quite big enough. Trusty Brigham apple to the rescue! All bundled up on the deck staring at the moon.

Popped open a new one ...
King William from Bennington Tobacconist in Sarasota - a VA/Per that is packed full of flavor, produces tons of smoke and a really great natural tobacco room note.
I am so glad I decided to try something new and pop a tin even though I have too many open tins already. I have been smoking this all day for two days now.
And it wouldn't go out either. Even after tamping, it was still lit. I smoked a fairly large eagle claw meerschaum from CAO that Bob gave me ... it is about an hour and a half smoke, and I only re-lit three times.

Sounds great Kevin... I'm so deimpressed, an hour and a half... you should come up for the next slow smoke. I'll let you know when Skip schedules it.

Good Morning to all (and all y'all). I can't help but envy Simon from the B.C. area, who mentioned that he had "bundled up" to go out on the deck to view the moon. (Lawrence, I got a kick outta those Sherlock mini's. Thanks for posting the pix.)
P.A. for breakfast in a Butz-Choquin bulldog.

Captain Earle's Nightwatch in a L'anatra. This stuff is definitely going on my A-List.
Kevin, I have some of the "pouch button" humidiers that I use in open tins. Dip one vey briefly in distilled water and let it dry out a bit before putting it in the tin. Check the RH daily for the first few days, you don"t want to overdo it, you just want to maintain 10-14% RH. If the tobacco is picking up moisture, remove the button for a while and let it dry a little more. Pipesandcigars.com has them for $0.99, 5/$3.99 or you should be able to find them at any B&M.

2nd time around for McClelland's bulk 2015 Vaper in a Brigham Algonquin 2-dot Rhodesian.
As for those button humidifiers that Kcvet67 recommended to Kevin, I like 'em when I've got to rescue a tin of crunchy tobacco. But to minimize the risk of mold or mildew I boil a ½ cup of water in a microwave, then drop the disk in the boiling hot water and let it soak there until the water cools off.
A better strategy is to prevent the tobacco from drying in the tin either by transferring it to a Mason jar right away, or by rubbing candle or bee's wax around the tin's rim, and pressing a square of aluminum foil over it before you snap the plastic lid back on.
