I saw that mentioned in the reviews and wondered what happens after something like that. Is it tough luck? Do the tobacco companies reimburse or replace? How do pipe-smokers regain confidence in said blend?
C&D & SP took responsibility and offered to replace the tins with another blend or store credit. But the reports of moldy tins was so widespread that C&D took the unusual step of recalled the entire production run.
The following year's release did not appear to have the same problems, or at least to the same extent, so I bought tins from the third release last year.
I'd had a couple bowls of the first release before all of the mold reports came flooding in, and it was a pretty good matured Red of a type that's going to be difficult to replicate.
