I have a tin of Black House, I can't wait to smoke it once I've finished up a few of the Englishes in my open jar cabinetAs a Balkan lover myself idt people still realize how much of a loss this is. I think that area was his undisputed kingdom
I missed out on Black House :/ I think I have at least one crusty old partial tin of it laying around somewhere... I would have loved to have gotten a half dozen just for variety but my main indulgence is Magnum Opus with second being Bengal Slices so... between my 36 tins of the former and 18 of the latter I'm hoping to get by on that ration for as long as I shall roam this earthly plane..I have a tin of Black House, I can't wait to smoke it once I've finished up a few of the Englishes in my open jar cabinet
I noticed that Skiff was one SG blend that hadn't flown off SP's shelves - I don't know why, I prefer it over Squadron Leader and think it's an essential in the cellar.I think its worse for me at this moment. I got out of tobacco in 2008. And gettin back in now... i made my first order in almost 20 years...
a tine of Skiff, first time buying it. 20 year ago, i could never find it instock.

C&D sells perique in bulk for blending, both in granulated and long-cut versions. The last processed perique blending tobacco I bought had a Sutliff label on it. I notice that supplier is no longer selling the blending perique; glad I bought 2 pounds. I keep watching for the blending perique to return from a different source but that hasn't happened yet.
Yup. I didn't buy 2lbs and I'm a sad boy.The last processed perique blending tobacco I bought had a Sutliff label on it. The granulated is OK, but possibly soaked in an alcohol maybe? And with the granulated cut it really performs incredibly different in a blend than blending perique.C&D sells perique in bulk for blending, both in granulated and long-cut versions.
It’s under “long cut perique” in the C&D bulk offerings on smoking pipes. The granulated is OK, but possibly soaked in an alcohol maybe? And with the granulated cut it really performs incredibly different in a blend than blending perique.
I haven't seen the c&d long cut version, any idea where they sell it?
"It's worthwhile noting that, due to its length, this particular cut of the condiment leaf can be difficult to blend and shouldn't be used unless called for in specific recipes."It’s under “long cut perique” in the C&D bulk offerings on smoking pipes.
I can confirm that the C&D long-cut perique it is difficult to incorporate into a blend; it's almost shag-like and tends to stick together in clumps. I've taken to pressing blends that I put it in, just to get the flavor to distribute a bit better when I break the resulting kake apart."It's worthwhile noting that, due to its length, this particular cut of the condiment leaf can be difficult to blend and shouldn't be used unless called for in specific recipes."
That's one of the more bizarre notes I've seen on a blending tobacco.
Interesting. Any idea if this is the same stuff p&c used to sell as "blending perique"?I can confirm that the C&D long-cut perique it is difficult to incorporate into a blend; it's almost shag-like and tends to stick together in clumps. I don't think so, as I have both and the cuts are definitely different. The Sutliff "blending perique" that P&C used to sell is much chunkier and shorter. Plus, I believe that all of the C&D perique now comes from their 31 Farms partnership, so it's all single-origin.Interesting. Any idea if this is the same stuff p&c used to sell as "blending perique"?
It sort of fits in with the "OMG don't smoke straight perique!" narrative. Bad things will happen."It's worthwhile noting that, due to its length, this particular cut of the condiment leaf can be difficult to blend and shouldn't be used unless called for in specific recipes."

Perique is still available it's just harder to find. I order some and it's good and no issues delivery ect; I can let you know. Please let me know if you find a good source. The last perique I got was whole leaf and well, its not as good as the perique I got that was Sutliff.Yup. I didn't buy 2lbs and I'm a sad boy.
