I have doubts as well. The late '80s had reports of black triangle UFOs then these were revealed during the Gulf War.

I had recurring nightmares about those when I was a 10 year old boy. that was 60 years ago now.
Just goes to show how confusing things can get when it comes to to interpolating imagination and reality.

I also think there's a good degree of wish fulfillment in the minds of a lot of people who have posted on here: they can't stand the thought of being alone in the Universe.
Fear not good fellows. God is with us.

Didn’t a alien spaceship crash on earth thousands of years ago and they had sex with monkeys or their spirits invaded monkeys and that’s why we’re all here?

This new image from the DESI shows that there is at least a chance...

"The image contains 7.5 million galaxies within a distance of about 5 billion light-years in the direction of the constellation Virgo, with Earth located at the lower left. With the large-scale structure of the cosmos clearly visible, it’s not hard to see why it’s often referred to as the cosmic web, and there’s plenty that astronomers can learn from the data."

This is just in one direction...not all of space.

Sweet!

Yes, somewhere out there in the vast cosmos, is most likely life. Now, whether that life is self-aware, or intelligent, or even if it is anything like us, is most unlikely. Being more advanced than us is even less likely. But, even with lottery, there is always a chance.

Now, do we want to come into contact with "them." I would say absolutely not. Any creature that could make their way to us, is a foe we would rather not tangle with. As we see in all life forms we know about is violence as a means for survival.

I have pleasantly disagree but acknowledge your opinion based off human history. In human history we destroy our very own species, so it would be easy to assume that a highly intelligent species would destroy us. But, wouldn’t it also be easy to assume that they’re so intelligent, that they see the importance of all species?

I don't think we see this in any species. All living things have to kill to eat, even if they are vegetarian. All living things are capable of (and have proven to use) violence. But, like... this is like arguing about what we will do with our lottery winnings, ha ha.

True. I also think it’s funny, on that take of thought, that in movies they portray we beat aliens with our own weapons. Personally, I think it would be more likely it to be like war of the worlds, where they die from infectious disease.

I think it would be more likely that the alien lifeform could be a microorganism. The idea of a life form being of human proportions and then using a vast array of metal alloys and technology to get here... just doesn't seem plausible. Here, we could go colonize some other planet, because many would be like... "taxes, it's just too expensive." So, we most likely will never leave this shithole. puffy Who would want it after us anyways?

Either way, if they do show up and look similar to human form, they look like this5A10FC41-1DCD-4CFA-AA02-308AF0772BCB.jpeg

I've often wondered if anaerobic bacteria were the original visitors from outer space here.

I'm not looking to criticize you personally, but what you say has no logic, it's just baseless assumption. Something that you wish to be so, without a scrap of factuality back it up.
Mind you, you're not the only one. just read through this thread and you'll find that virtually everything said is baseless assumption.
How people's brains turn to jelly on this subject matter is absolutely amazing.

In the Humansville Christian Church we were taught that in all essentials we should have unity, and in all matters of conscience diversity and liberty of opinion.

We know we exist. There’s not a doubt of that.

If there’s other life out there, our smart astronomers haven’t yet seen an alien doing anything we could say, yep, there’s another critter out there, we ain’t alone.

But what astronomers can see, and prove beyond doubt, is that besides this world there are billons upon billions and billions of others, and they must be billions of years old.

So the Christian must decide, if all those worlds without number, were sort of a cosmic accident that was the result of a mysterious explosion that occurred eons ago, or whether we were placed on this earth by design of the master’s hand, and we are all, each and every one of us, the children of God and equal in His sight.

It’s a lot prettier to believe we are all brothers and sisters, the creation of a munificent Creator.

But our Creator could be a teenager doing a lab experiment.

Wouldn’t we be cool, to watch?

But in any event, I’m a Christian, only.

I can’t explain it all and never will, but I’m sure and certain myself that we were created and not the result of chance.

And an added bonus of being a Christian, is we have good music to sustain us.

I wrote a short blog about something similar the other day. You might enjoy it.

Actually, THIS applies to every post you've made in this thread. No logic whatsoever, just absolute statements and put downs of others.

By virtue of being absolutes your position lacks any credibility.

Every day is a tug of war between ignorance, discovery and knowledge, which means that absolutes, if they exist, are still not known. And if we should one day reach a place of such complete cosmological knowledge that we KNOW with absolute surety, that we are the only instance of "life", then we will be facing that reality.

Until that day, you're pronouncements are merely that. Not fact. Not truths. Just your personal beliefs, that apply only to the universe of you.
