I am 60 and my sons love gaming but I never got into any of it after the video arcade (gamerooms) went away and money became my focus. When my first son was 4 we got him a console and played a game called Cookies and Cream and it was really fun. Later when they were 10 we played Call of Duty and I was a sniper trying to shoot them. My boys (6 & 10) would tell me “Daddy don't be mad, but I am lying beside you and going to stab you now”. My wife laughed so hard. I got a little frustrated and quit games altogether. Later I watched my son play Jack and Daxter but would get dizzy watching so I had stop watching. I sound wimpy but I am 6’4 250, served in Army, used to scuba dive, have sky dive twice, athletic, etc. but the movement of some video games gives me vertigo. Its strange. Maybe when I retire in a few years I might try again.

Not too strange, at least one early 3d game (Spyro) had it's camera changed for the Japanese release to prevent "3D Sickness" in players.

You're probably in luck, because I don't think (in my lifetime at least) that there's been a broader range of video games with greater availability.

As for my current game play: varies day to day, currently bouncing between:
Extremely modded Skyrim (Dark Brotherhood quest line with a sneak-mage),
Crusader Kings 3 (Chinese exile that bought himself a house in Byzantium by reconquering Antioch for them),
And on the Switch, I've been enjoying Marfusha and it's sequel, Snezhinka (cute/dystopian tower defense).

I tried the demo of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, but I don't think I'll be able to play it on PC without getting motion sickness. Might wait for a sale on the Playstation version.

So I'm waiting for my copy of the Suikoden remaster for Switch: I was hoping to be playing it this weekend, but UPS won't be delivering it until Monday (at best).

So I'll probably play a little more Pokemon Arceus, since my son has been addicted lately and has revived my interest. But first I have to remember how to play it: it's been a while.

The good news is that none of the original trilogy are truly bad - First Mass Effect is amazing, the second one is solid, the third one is alright.
I haven't touched Andromeda.

Dragon Age peaks at Origins, declines rather sharply with 2 (plot is still good, but they only made like, six dungeon designs that they reuse constantly), and I made it maybe 20 hours into Inquisition before realizing that even trying to be a completionist was a fool's errand - I had only just touched the first major plot beat (narrative equivalent: when you're made a Spectre in ME 1) and threw my hands up in disgust.
I haven't touched Veilguard, and don't plan to.
A lot of people seem to dislike Veilguard, but I rather liked it. The move towards more action-oriented combat was kind of controversial, but I preferred it to Inquisition, which itself I know frustrated some old-school fans. It's currently one of the monthly games if you have PS Plus Premium

I was trying to get into Kingdom Come: Deliverance, but I got frustrated looking for a suit of armor, managing the hunger meter, and didn't enjoy the initial combat encounters much. I am trying to power through because I suspect it will get more enjoyable. I want to get Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, but I keep waiting for it to go on sale. PS Plus and the PS Store usually seem to get the Yakuza and Judgment games n discount or included pretty quickly, but it hasn't been the case with this one yet. I should just pay full freight and support the developers and publishers that are still putting out quality single-player games, really, but I also have bills.
