I was disappointed with MSG5 largely because the falling out between Kojima and Konami basically left the game incomplete. Which is a shame, because the gameplay is quite good, and the theme of language as a form of colonization and cultural genocide are interesting. Also Kojima's star-f*!%ing led to David Hader's departure as Snake, which was a dame shame. Kiefer Sutherland is a fine actor, but he is not Snake.

Konami as a game company sucks these days, far more interested in their gambling machines than quality games. But given Kojima's work since the split (Death Stranding, which combined both masochistic, boring gameplay and a nonsensical story), I can't blame Konami for being a bit tired of Kojima.
I love all of the MGS series. Partly this is my own bias but I cannot find fault in any of them.

Yeah I wish David Hayter voiced Big Boss in 5, but besides that, just truly epic. Even playing at higher difficulties isn’t unfair. It is just a challenge of skill. There is endless replayability in all of them.

Next I think i’ll replay MGS3 before MGS Delta releases soon. Hopefully that turns out good. Gameplay previews look awesome. They kept it exactly the same. As they should.

Riding the nostalgia train with the remasters of Soul Reaver 1 & 2.

Awesome games. Hopefully we get a Blood Omen 1 remake as that game is rough to return to.

I love watching people review these remakes that do not change anything and call the game ‘dated’. Like no shit man, but it’s still fun and enjoyable. Not everything needs to be freakin fortnite garbage.

Some video games I've put alot of hours on:

Red Alert: Tons of fun: I maxed out though with downloading scenarios. THey are a ton of fun though.

Prince of Persia: Alot of fun, but the browser version has no savegame function, and one mistake can make you restart the whole level.

Imperator Rome: It's alot of fun. But a single play through can take maybe a month. And to turn on Achievement mode, you aren't supposed to be able to reload older save games from before your last savegame. So if you make a mistake, you can't go back further than 1 savegame. It also has a lot of micromanagement, so I got overwhelmed by Achievement mode.

Men of War and MOW Assault Squad 2: I beat all the Single Player official missions, but multiplayer matches take awhile to set up with a friend (you need to get a friend to play this outdated game) and matches can last a while.

World of Tanks was very addictive, but it was also monotonous, with tons of "grinding" to get new tanks.

Battlefield 1 and 5 were great, but the single player missions do't have much replay value, and after a while the multiplayer modes start to get old.

I’ve been jumping between games a lot lately, too. I totally get the frustration with modern FPS games being overly complex sometimes. You want to hop in and shoot stuff without memorizing 40 keybinds. I’ve been sticking with chill games like Stardew Valley after work or diving into Rust to mess around with base building and survival. If you’re into customizing stuff in games, you’d probably enjoy learning how to get skins in Rust, which makes the experience feel more personal, especially once you’ve tailored your setup. Here’s a pretty handy guide for that: How to Get Skins in Rust? Free & Paid Methods (2024) - https://skinsmonkey.com/blog/how-to-get-skins-in-rust.

Been spending my evenings playing 'Dungeons of Blood and Dream' after getting it in the steam sale. It's quickly become one of my favourite games ever, I'm a sucker for anything wizard and low-poly related.

Replaying Warcraft 3 (original, not Reforged), currently on mission 4 of the Reign of Chaos undead campaign.
Y'know, the one where you need to waste a third of Arthas' inventory slots to carry a necromancer's ashes and a magical key to open a magical elf gate so he can proceed to lay waste to a magical elf city.

I got (myself) the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection for Christmas. The only FF game I've ever finished was the first, when it was released for DS about 20 years ago. I fired it up last week, and finished it again on Saturday morning. The new QOL features are very nice: I didn't want to spend a lot of time on this one again, so I turned up the experience and gil to 4x, turned off random encounters every so often, and finished the game in about 10 hours. Much more pleasant than slogging it out in normal mode. I usually prefer Dragon Quest, but I might play more of the FF games until the DQ3 remaster goes on sale.

So far i’ve completed Metal Gear Solid 5, then played Metal Gear Solid 3, then Metal Gear Solid 1. I am currently on 2 and when that is done I have the Playstation 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4 ready to go.

In the between I was able to snag Diablo 2 Resurrected on Blizzards Holiday Sale for very cheap. I own the original D2 Battle Chest and beat it a few years ago with a Necromancer. I started this new game with an Amazon.

The ROG Ally X has changed my access and availability to gaming. I travel for work and have young children. But this thing is so easy to play for short or long sessions. I dock it to my TV and play kids games with my children than put it in its case. No worries about it getting taken out by them like a console would just sitting around on a TV Stand. Or messed with.

I’ve repurchased so many games on PC I also own on console. MGS Legacy Collection being one and MGSV. And I have the original PS3 HD Collection which comes with MGS PeaceWalker instead of MGS1.

I also own the Twin Snakes on Gamecube which I love but is hated for some reason.

Oh man I can't believe I didn't see this thread. Lately I've been playing a bunch of Brighter Shores which was made by the dudes that made RuneScape if any of y'all remember that.

I also love playing Cities Skylines but just the original one, the sequel sounded too buggy and I'm waiting for it to go on sale for a reasonable price.

I've also been playing Everspace 2 which is a fun space shoot em up that reminds me of this game Freelancer that I was obsessed with as a high schooler. Good times.

Reading even just the couple latest pages of this thread...I realize I /really/ need to expand my horizons and quit playing Fortnite all the time. That game stresses me out, yet I play daily - I blame my boys for getting me into it lol

I need a pipe friendly game ...recently was rec'd Mass Effect and that seems to fit the bill so far.
