I am pretty sure I got it right before people where talking about it. I mean it was a flu that lasted two weeks and was pretty horrible and felt much more like acute bronchitis then any flu I've ever had. Also it hit way faster then flus normally do. I went from fine to sick with almost zero in between points and my first thought was I see how a flu like this could kill someone who is older or vulnerable. Again can't confirm but... I feel confident about it. And yeah that was when people where still saying you hear what's happening in China not what's happening all over the world.

Fever, cough rather then sneeze, shortness of breath?

yep and muscle soreness. But mainly feeling like I had been snorting pudding during an asthma attack. Funny thing is each day it got noticeably better and yet still lingered for two weeks before just disappearing like it never happened. It was like a regular flu but extra sucky and drawn out. Neat part is if I am right then I'am past the point of being contagious. Either way it was pretty crappy. I couldn't even smoke or vape or anything like that for over a week. Even the tiniest whisp of smoke felt like scrubing ones throat with barbed wire.

No, so far so good. We're hiding out at home. Eventually I may go grocery shopping, though we have some delivered. When I go, I will prep as if I'm doing a moon walk. Better safe than all the hassle and bad potential of being sorry. When things get convincingly all clear, whoopee. In a while, I'll take sanitary wipes and rub down the faucet handles, stair rails, keyboards, TV remotes, and phones. I'd rather be silly than sick.

Had a very similar virus a few weeks ago before testing was available. Isolated myself from wife and baby for a week. Your comment about acute bronchitis is spot on and your description sounds exactly like what I had as well. We’ll never know, haha.

Glad you've mended!

yeah it would be weird if we had the same regular flu that hit us the same way. It certainly felt during the first few days like it could turn serious real fast.

Me, the wife and the kids all had the flu about a week ago hard to tell weather it's just regular flu or China bat eating flu.

MIL is sick with flu-like symptoms and she is vaccinated against normal flu. Luckily she seems to be getting better now.

It sounds (as one would expect) pretty horrible. I hope it was COVID-19 you had as that means you have nothing to fear now.
As far as self isolation is concerned the talk here in the UK is people over 60 and/or who have underlying health issues should quarantine themselves for 3-4 months. That's bad enough but I have seen experts saying this disease could be around for over a year so the duration of self isolation might have to be even longer?.
I personally do have some health issues but nothing (I think) that would put me in an at risk category. I don't have (touch wood) diabetes, high blood pressure, heart problems or have had a stroke. I'm well under 60 as well (46) so I'm personally going on the assumption there's a good chance I'll get it if I don't hide myself away. Honestly if I am going to get it I'd rather have it happen now and get it out of the way.

Nothing at this time and I don't know anyone who has had or currently has Coronavirus. Back in Nov'19 and Feb'20 I had an Upper Respiratory Infection which was confirmed by my doctor. I wasn't tested for Coronavirus. I was tested for the flu only, which was negative. I was loaded up with antibiotics and steroids and the infection was gone in a week each time. I've had a flu shot and took a series of pneumonia shots over the past few years. I've completed the pneumonia shots and will not need any for the rest of days. I'm 73 yrs old and have had COPD for 10 yrs so I'm in that High Risk Group.

I'm just getting over something similar... all the same symptoms @anotherbob mentioned, plus what seemed like pinkeye. Lasted 2 weeks and kept feeling like I was getting better but then it jumped all over me again every night. Symptoms started about 2 days after I got that package of HU samples from you!

Hahaha, well maybe I sent you more than you bargained for. That was right about that time, haha. Sorry. Glad you didn’t die.

Look I'm not pointing any fingers here but are you sure you weren't patient zero in this whole mess? Eating bats & spreading infected HU tobacco to poor unsuspecting forum members?
To be fair contracting coronavirus (or to give it its new and correct name, alaskanpipervirus) would probably be worth enduring if the end result is also owning some lovely HU Tobacco?.
