I enjoy cigars during the hot and humid season. Padron is my usual brand but I like trying out different ones. Maduro wrappers are my favorite.

I smoke both pipes and cigars, no cigarettes. I now prefer pipes and smoke fewer cigars than I did just a few years ago. I used to always take cigars to steak houses and bars, but since Illinois passed a smoke free law, effective January 1, 2008, I smoke a lot less cigars. I like to think that the Illinois governor who signed the law is in prison for making Illinois "smoke free". But, I am told by others that he went to prison for corruption, which, in my opinion, includes approving anti-smoking legislation.

I probably smoke one or two a week. I like Punch, Nub, Camacho, and La Gloria Cubana. I like them to walk the dog if it is windy or when my neighbor comes over for a drink.

The CAO Italia reminded me most of the Cuban Cohiba's that I have smoked. I also enjoy Punch Puros from time to time, and Comancho Liberty cigars.

I don't smoke a cigar but maybe once a month, just not as into it as I am smoking a pipe. But I do enjoy puffing away on one when I feel like it, such as last night. Appreciate the replies and I'll have to keep some of them in mind -the ones with repeat mentions, like Punch and CAO, or some that I've wanted to check out also-.

Pipes are my daily thing, but I have a box of cohiba esplendido's aging that I still haven't tried, I got a box for 175$ off a nurse at my work who got them straight from cuba, plus 23 monte cristo #4's for 4$ a stick. If your in the states, one of the best cigars you can get are the Joya de Nicaragua, made the top 25 cigars in cigar aficionado out of every cigar including cubans, apparantly they are the white house official cigars also. http://cigarpress.com/joya-de-nicaragua-tour-esteli-nicaragua http://www.cigaraficionado.com/top25/show/id/10079 They got something like a 90+ out of 100 rating.

I usually smoke 5-10 cigars a week. I smoke a wide range but I usually smoke a box or two of a certain stick and move on when I feel like something new. Right now I'm half a box into some rocky patel olde world reserves, good smoke.

I'll smoke them every once in a while, especially when it's hot. My favorites are Rocky Patel (1990s, '92s, '03s, Sun Growns, Edges), Ashton (VSGs, Puro Sols, Maduros) and Perdomo (Frescos, Lot 23s). I'm trying to cut back and stick to pipes except on special occassions to make better use of my "vice" funds.

I also really enjoy the H. Uppmann Vintage Cameroon. My favorite cigars are Fuente Hemingways, particularly the Signature size.

I love all the classic names already mentioned. I have a cigar shop that is short walk from house which could be considered a bad thing. The 4 that I'm currently enjoying are:

Arturo Fuente Rosado Sungrown Magnum R Vitola "Forty-Four"

Vegas Robaina Unico

Tatuaje Reserva SW

Ramone Allones Gigantes

I like the Ashton Aged Maduro as well as the Ashton VSG.

I too am a fan of a Camaroon wrapper and like the CAO and Uppman.

Love a Montecristo White label as well as Rocky Patel Vintage 1990

The Flor de la Antillas are quite good and relatively inexpensive.
I also enjoy Padron's, Fuente's and La Gloria Cubana.
I also love Cameroon wrappers. The Oliva Serie G are Camaroon and are pretty darn good.
There is one other cigar that I really enjoy that is also made by Fuente but sold under another name. It's very inexpensive but a good smoking cigar.

so, you either live outside the US or that is a very special cigar shop ... I could go for a Robaina Unico myself if I could get one readily ...

For years I smoked cigars on and off. After my late wife quit a serious cigarette habit, I'd only smoke cigars

on business trips, sometimes outside the U.S. I tried Cubans, but always preferred Dominicans. Between

the taxes on cigars, and the gentrification of cigar smoking, the prices have become silly if not prohibitive.

For the price of two good quality, but not extraordinary, cigars, that would smoke for an hour each, I can

buy a tin of quality pipe tobacco that will smoke for a half day or more. Plus, I have much more control,

can mix tobaccos, and get some quality tobacco at bulk prices for greater savings. I don't keep any cigars

on hand. I still enjoy a cigar at a birth, wedding, or a race track, but I enjoy pipes more.

I was never a fan of Cubans, they are a decent smoke but extraordinarily over rated and over priced. The rubbish about the soil mineral content of Cuba is just that, rubbish. The embargo has made the Cuban cigars what they are today. There are some really good Cubans but they normally require a lot of rest before smoking.
My favourites by far are the My fathers, Maduro. CAO make a nice Maduro too. The DR and Nicaragua are producing some fine cigars that really put 99% of Cubans to shame.

I started out as a casual cigar smoker 14 years ago. I really got into cigars just over 4 years ago and still enjoy them, but as of late I've been focusing more on my pipes. There are so many cigars I've enjoyed over the years I can't count them all, but a few of my favorites;
Romeo Y Julieta - 1875 Series

Romeo Y Julieta - Reserva Real

Tatuaje - Havana VI Nobles

Paul Stulac - Skull Salamone

Davidoff - Grand Cru

Man O War Ruination

Man O War Puro Authentico

Joya De Nicaragua - Cabinetta Series

Alec Bradley - Tempus

Onyx - Reserve

Drew Estates - Undercrown

Drew Estates - Liga Privada No 9

CAO - Italia

CAO - Brazilia

CAO - La traviata

CAO - Criollo Pato

Montecristo - White Label

Oliva Cain - Daytona

5 Vegas - Gold

5 Vegas - Classic

5 Vegas - Series A

Pinar Del Rio - Clasico

Pinar Del Rio - Sun Grown

Pinar Del Rio - Oscuro

Rocky Patel - Connecticut
To name a few anyway. I left of the ISOMs off the list since they're "forbidden".

I tried a cigar last week... I smoked too fast and the nicotine punched me right in the stomach (aka I threw up). I still have one more I should smoke or give away as it's not in a humidor. But I'll stick with pipes. Or the occasional cigarette should I find myself drunk enough.

I love cigars but I love pipes more. If I had more money I'd smoke two or three a week. The tobaccos used are so different than anything in the pipe world except, of course, those pipe blends that use cigar tobacco;). On the other hand pipe tobaccos are far more variable than those used with cigars.
