I use an Epson V200 (now discontinued, sadly) and Silverfast for scanning film. Epson flatbed scanners are just what the doctor ordered for scanning film; alas, just like a doctor, they're not cheap. If you're thinking of scanning 4x5 film or anything larger than 35 mm you'll require the top of the pyramid model: not cheap at all.I find myself stuck between shooting film and processing digitally. The tanks and chemicals are not a problem but the scanner and post processing are daunting. Is their a “best“ way to do this economically AND more simply?
I use Silverfast because Epson's scanning software is as terrible as the scanner is terrific.
