I stopped reading magazines when they started printing the words way too small to read.

All these testimonials of the varied and even intellectual reading materials just goes to show what kind of people pipers are, I think.

I still think The Most Interesting Man in the World smokes a pipe. A Dunhill, no doubt.

There are many I would enjoy, but the only magazine I currently get is American Rifleman, the default NRA publication.

It's always a drag when a fave mag has to fold and call it quits,

I greatly lament the passing of Signal To Noise,

it was like a less stuffy Wire,

really good stuff.

Wire is still good though,

but I ain't bought one in a while ,

last time I did it was $10 and quite a thin volume too...

Transworld Skateboard & Snowboard
I'm certain there are others. Long live the printed word. :)

I subscribe to the New Yorker on my Kindle — you still get the cartoons. Living in a remote area and having bad eyesight the Kindle is quite hand that way.

First of all +1 on the New Yorker magazine. I used to date a girl whose dad subscribed to them. Great writing and cartoons.

Some very interesting magazine choices on here folks.
I forgot to mention, that from about 1971 to about 1980 I read National Lampoon magazine quite religiously. It had some truly innovative humor that surely would not pass any sort of PC test now. It was rude, crude and sarcastic humor, poking fun at a lot of society's hang ups. And let's not forget the comic pages, which had the Appletons, a sort of Leave it to Beaver family featuring a dad that smoked a pipe! I really do miss politically incorrect humor...

Two magazines I subscribed to for years were National Geographic and Scientific American. After every issue seemed to arrive contaminated and suffused with enviro-political issues I stopped my subscriptions. That wasn't the only reason though. Along with the unwanted preaching came an editorial dumbing down of both mags. They just were no longer challenging to read anymore.
I did enjoy Aviation and Flying for a few years. I think they are still worthwhile and I peruse some of the back issues from time to time.
But for now... no print magazines.

I still read several paper magazines regularly. I subscribe to Ontario out of Doors and recieve Calibre magazine as well. Every month I buy numerous hunting/archery, truck/4x4 and paddling and other outdoor/nature magazines. I love to read but don't have the time to sit down to a novel so magazines are a great way to get my reading fix. :puffy:

I dropped my subscription to WatchTime a while back. It had become more & more about the ultra expensive watches. I still subscribe to their e-newsletter even though I haven't added anything to my collection in a while.
I subscribe to Whisky Magazine & every few yrs will switch back & forth with Whisky Advocate when one or the other becomes repetitive. I would like to get Unfiltered Magazine, the membership publication of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society but an initial membership is about $250 US with annual dues of ~$100 as I recall.

I had all but forgotten about "Mad" in the 60's and "National Lampoon" in the 70's.
Back in the day, I considered both as "required reading".
