42 isn’t too bad. I use to ski all the time… with no hat/cap because it wasn’t cool. We’d be out all day… and into the evening sometimes w/frozen snot on our faces. Now, a couple runs and I’m ready to come in… I still love to ski, just not the cold… and I wear a cap, hand warmers, heated jacket, etc. ?
The only time I've been to Montana was to ski some 45 years ago. -39F air temp. Beautiful scenery but with that kind of winter would not want to live there. Now, when it dips below 30 I'm freezing.

In my case I realize I'm getting "mature" because I keep losing the hair on my head while I started growing hair on my ears, back, shoulders, plus I need to trim my eyebrows because they grow infinitely. What a weird thing is to lose the hair where it should grow and it starts growing where it shouldn't.

I used to make hot chili for myself. Gloriously hot. It was a great manly chili, it grew hair on your chest, made you want to take a nap then cut down a tree\ with an axe and work on car engines. It cleared your sinuses, killed cancer cells and cured irregularity. It was also hot no one else would eat it. Then when I hit 40 or 45 and I made it just as I always did and got all kinds of back firing, and not the good kind that clears out a room leaving you in wonderfully alone for a while, peels old wallpaper and eliminates house hold pests. I got heart burn, upset stomach, couldn't sleep that night, etc. So I chalked it up to a bad batch and wait a month before making it again. Same results. I had officially gotten too old to eat my own hot chili. That's when I knew for the first time I was getting old. I miss that chili.

There was a person at the college I attended who had to be in his 20’s, but looked older. It would be rough to be that young and look older. Oh, he smoked a pipe and had a wonderful old South accent.

I've always had a thing for older women...now I have one. ;)
I married a younger woman so now she’s still younger, yet ……. old (still evaluating how that really worked out in the end)!

And . . . the heater is in! I can now piddle around (and relax comfortably) in the garage when it is -20 to 30 degrees out this winter! I'm officially old!

I just say that my hair has migrated.

When my chili, tagine dinners or gumbo fail to occasionally make my forehead sweaty or my nose run fire up the kiln! Thankfully my love of spice thrives - having said that when I forget where the cumin is my nose sometimes has me thinking it’s hiding in my wife’s dirty delicates.

You know you're getting old when:
1. Hair stops growing on your head and starts growing out of your ears and nose.
2. Young ladies (and some not so young) address you by putting "Mr." in front of your name.
3. Things that used to work automatically now have to "think about it".

Im not old but i realized i am not young either when i noticed i have no tolerance anymore for stupid people, and the large tub of rolaids that i now seem to need all the time because i refuse to stop eating what i could when i was younger.
