thank you anthony, trail, and weezell. I didn't even tell people at work and even today when I told people they were in shock when they heard. Her final wish to me was to move on with my life and not get hung up on the sorrow. I am trying to do that. I will always love her and she will always have a special place in my heart.

Sorry for your loss, particularly at such a young age. I lost my brother last January (age 65), a pipe smoker who changed to cigarettes which inevitably led to his demise (emphysema). He too was the last piper other than me in the family; at least four generations worth of pipe smoking. The finality of death does not however erase the memories. I can still remember so fondly my brother and I sitting on the back deck at our parents' Atlanta home lighting up our pipes and dreaming of the great future to come. Our memories are the books of our lives. Condolences.

There is a beginning and and end for all of us... this is certain. It's what we put between them that matters...who we put between them. It sounds as if you have fond memories not just of him, but certainly because of him. The measure of a man(woman)will not be the distance between the bookends, but the content.
