I became aware of John Mayall when I was a kid. I really got into Eric Clapton and he led me to JM and countless others.
RIP Me. Mayall.

To be fair, I don't think they started the thread, but did contribute to it, so Bob Newhart was hardly being ignored. Not sure why kcghost chose to bring up Bob Newhart on a thread dedicated to the work of John Mayall though.

Bob did a great telephone bit where he called John and was trying to get him to return a crosscut saw he’d borrowed.

Both John and Bob were giants in their respective fields.
