The Cotswolds? Doesn't Jeeza reside there? Everybody knows Jeremy, that paragon of politically correct speech and mild manners. Is that a plus Jay? Or, a negative. No response please as this thread will soon disappear. Just an observation.

Warren, who on earth is Jeeza???
Lost me on that one chum
Regards,
Jay.
EDIT: Do you mean that idiot Jeremy Clarkson by any chance? Total waste of a skin if you ask me.

I figured that would be your thought. And, I knew no matter how arcane, you would be one who would figure it out.
But, now we may have ignited something interesting. The old Top Gear has it's avid/rabid supporters. Let us sit back and see if anyone bites! Everyone has an opinion about Clarkson.

Warren, the old Top Gear was worth watching, and I do mean the old Top Gear...way before Clarkson turned it into a show about himself.
Originally it featured everyday cars, the sort that you and I might buy, they were road tested and compared to each other in such a way as made great family viewing. I don't know if that was ever shown on US TV and would actually doubt it was simply due to the fact it was based on British cars for a British public.
Regards,
Jay.

I'm a aware of the evolution of the show. Interesting. Once dedicated to car evaluations, Clarkson decided to take his, the second?, iteration into the big money and attracted a world-wide audience. It became personality driven. The car people turned to other available shows.
Clarkson lost a filter or two over the years. James May had several series on his own which I found entertaining and informative. And, Hammond nearly died. All three suddenly found their books selling well. And, a nameless men in a helmets and racing suits took on a life of their own, attracting surveillance from the media in an air of humorous security. A merchandising behemoth. Traveling roadshow. Scandals! That show had everything audiences crave. Well, except for the audience left behind.
All and all, a fascinating bit of television history! Information be damned! It was entertaining

Diff strokes, then! Volleyball, both beach and indoor are tops in my book. I can't stand women body builder shows, and most softball pitchers are scary big! :) Though there's always that built shortstop or left fielder!

We are not bonkers, we are, as a group stupid and complacent. Also lazy, rude, unpleasant, overweight and generally repulsive. We have a long way to go to turn into a decent group of people. Often our behavior is closer to monkeys than what we like to think of as human. This week I got suspended from a social site for calling Americans stupid. Will this site do the same?

Not if I get a vote. I am similarly self-critical, of myself and my society. I've found much room for improvement in both cases.
