Yes, I get your point...but where else can you find a group of people who will actually have a conversation with you about a photo of a plug that looks like that? The alternative is to mutter to yourself all week about how strange your plug looks.Said it before and I'll say it again.
Why a group of people who---by definition because we're here---care the MOST about pipes and tobacco, do their best at every opportunity to demoralize and discourage a company that chose to slog its way through the insane swamp that dealing with producing and selling tobacco internationally has become, rather than surrender and close their doors, is one of the most confusing things I've ever seen in my life.
@georged : If you noticed in the Op-Ed I stated this is not a 'Bash Gawith thread' but a simple comment that perhaps they need to look into the odd rogue batch escaping. The fact I continue to buy their products should indicate that I am just a little bemused as opposed to upset!Said it before and I'll say it again.

Agreed! I prefer to look at it an an isolated incidence of humor. Something to at during a long winter as our Vitamin D is depleting. I don’t recall anyone bashing the company…certainly not Simon…he’s a GH plug lover to the hilt as I recall. ️Yes, I get your point...but where else can you find a group of people who will actually have a conversation with you about a photo of a plug that looks like that? Dark Plug!BTW is this the burnt end thing? Or, which plug is it?
You must be new to the internets lolYou friend with the polaroid album used to mutter to himself about his 'foot longs' probably since there wasn't a group on the net to discuss these things. Perhaps there is a need for 'Copro Magazine' to cater for lost souls with these types of preoccupations!
George, there is nothing altruistic about GH or any other large tobacco company. And there is nothing that anyone can say here that would demoralize them, unless it negatively impacts sales.Said it before and I'll say it again.

The magic of sales. They come on here and bash us, sales go up for them. We bash them back, and sales go up for them. It’s win win.George, there is nothing altruistic about GH or any other large tobacco company. My guess is that several of us have already placed orders for plug, based solely on Simon’s carying on about the gross deformaties he found.
Were you talking about War Horse, or the stuff you guys made?Remember the War Horse slogan: War Horse Bar. Tastes like shit. Buy some! It was a marketing ploy of pure genius and I still believe Dan missed his calling of working in an advertising agency.

Nobody, other than my mom, has ever called me sneaky before. Thank you!You are putting words in my mouth in an ever-so-sneaky implicit way.
The REASON GH&Co has chosen to produce tobacco products in a world that has become hostile toward tobacco doesn't matter to me.
Of course they are trying to make money.
As for the only thing that will cause them to lose heart is not making money, I don't see how having their methods and reputation regularly trashed on the Internet by a group of passionate hobbiests---a group that pipesmoking newcomers come to for guidance---could possibly help.
MANY more people read forums like this one than post to them.
