Why a group of people who---by definition because we're here---care the MOST about pipes and tobacco, do their best at every opportunity to demoralize and discourage a company that chose to slog its way through the insane swamp that dealing with producing and selling tobacco internationally has become, rather than surrender and close their doors, is one of the most confusing things I've ever seen in my life.

Yes, I get your point...but where else can you find a group of people who will actually have a conversation with you about a photo of a plug that looks like that? The alternative is to mutter to yourself all week about how strange your plug looks.

Agreed! I prefer to look at it an an isolated incidence of humor. Something to at during a long winter as our Vitamin D is depleting. I don’t recall anyone bashing the company…certainly not Simon…he’s a GH plug lover to the hilt as I recall. ️

I have had some Grousemoor plug like that, kinda just fell apart in chunks. Not complaining at all, and I agree, with the vintage cuts and burnt ends offerings, adjusto-plug would be a winner

George, there is nothing altruistic about GH or any other large tobacco company. And there is nothing that anyone can say here that would demoralize them, unless it negatively impacts sales.

My guess is that several of us have already placed orders for plug, based solely on Simon’s carying on about the gross deformaties he found.

The magic of sales. They come on here and bash us, sales go up for them. We bash them back, and sales go up for them. It’s win win.

If no one said anything about them, that’s when it should get scary for them.

Simon, I did agency work early in my career, writing radio spots and ad copy. Too many linear, narcissistic buttheads in that business for me.

But I can see a great ad opportunity for GH: The hand of God, reaching down from the heavens, handing Moses a pipe as a rich plume a smoke spirals skyward.
