I used to love Latakia, but now it just tastes like ashy cardboard to me.
Loved candy aromatics starting out, but now I have to be in the particular mood to enjoy them.
I started out with a disdain for perique, but now I can't get enough of the stuff. Go figure.

Even from early childhood things I disliked never improved. For example, Mac Baren's Navy Flake is a tobacco that I just couldn't finish a single pipe of decades ago. I still find it to be one of the nastiest tobaccos I've ever smoked.
Oddly, I just opened a tin of that last week and made great photos for the "opening a tin" thread. I like the way it smells. I was eager to try it.
My issue is not so much that it is repulsive to me, it's difficult for me to find pleasantness in it. No gratification. I keep searching for the goodness and it just never arrives.
I think that possibly for me, the Cavendish mellows things out too much for my personal palate. I think it's "too smooth".
About 5 bowls in and I find no reason to keep trying. I may be posting a tin of free tobacco soon.
I recall enjoying Peterson Deluxe Navy Rolls.
