My son gave me a F.E.S.S. churchwarden for my birthday last month. It is not much of a looker and does not smoke particularly well but I did very much appreciate it. You will need some long pipe cleaners for it as. You have no doubt figured out.

I see that Pipes and Cigars has a new promotion of Rigoletto Churchwarden Black Sandblast Briar pipes with choice of straight or curved stem and choice of bowl style for under $50.00.
The email said they'd had 'em once before and they sold like hot cakes..and now they've got some more!

I looked for reviews there and only one. The guy said after he hacked at his stem with a jackknife, the pipe was great!

They have the series of pipes being produced under a German pipe makers nam Valvuen. The sell for about 100.00 euros,give and take. Saw them when picking out my Christmas pipe for the year. There are neat and cool.
Might grab one fro the heck of if. They have all of the Hobbit style pipes.

The tobacco we dedicated to these pipes. My son likes Ruins of Isengaard and I prefer Short cut to Mushrooms. This is the beginning of our first cellar. I bought a pound of each for the purpose.

Closest pipe I have to a Churchwarden is my Rattray Butcher's Boy with the two stems, but as an ogre I lean towards the stubby stem. I do enjoy a large bowl and using a dwarf's torn off leg as a tamper.

[/quote]Awesome, thanks! How does it smoke? I might hit them up.The draw on them is real nice. And the sipping is really cool because of the length. The taste is pleasant and woody and overall I am pleased. But as predicted they can burn easy so break it in slowly. You can get your name on them in runes so that's fun. One problem is they have a bottom centered draw hole in the bowl. So that may be off putting. I haven't had problems. They're pretty fun.

Vauen auenland is the hobbit style pipes you are looking for. Plus vauen makes pretty solid pipes and not to mention the zepplin pipes they make really neat pipes fun to smoke.
