Got bored while having dinner. So pull up some reports from 2019 and went over it. The scientist who ran the study picked 200 individuals from specific area and compared it with other African individuals.

There are others who do not agree with this study. Samples are too limited, and genetic material from the fossils are not present to confirm or deny.

I don't agree either. Mainly, study only focus on individuals from Africa. If it is true then genetic evidence should be also found in Asians and Europeans, but wasn't tested. Also, if other homo species were well distributed as fossils suggest, Homo sapiens could have resulted from multiple places.

Also, was 200,000 years enough to change physical characteristics of multiple races that's currently living?

I say this study was full of holes and the scientists who ran this study were smoking something other than tobacco.

When I was a kid, our church taught some form of creationism, so the answer would have been (and still is for them), "no, Eden was between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers!" This was one of the things that drove me away from my church of origin. I am still religious today--I'm a chaplain, even--but my theology does not contradict the science. They do not have to be opposed.

The Out of Africa theory has been around for a long time. This theory also holds that the light skin found in Europe is a mutation from our original black skin. The theory is that humanity reached its current evolutionary state in what is now Botswana. It's as good a place as any!

I am going to play devils advocate and say there wasn't any place called Africa yet. So people came from proto Africa. The continent formerly known as something else we'll never know what they called it.

DNA testing has shown much about the migration of mankind. It has also demonstrated that the most genetically diverse set of peoples live in Africa. This isn't much of a surprise and supports the Out of Africa theory. Groups that moved out of Africa have less genetic diversity and are traceable via DNA. The Out of Africa theory is apparently can be a hard pill to swallow for those who aren't in Africa.

Current scientific consensus has all life coming from Africa.
