Dunno...smoking too much irritates my throat. Im for one or two great bowls where I pay attention and relax.

Something smooth and not too strong or heavily flavoured with a nice bowl scent so I can just sip away all day long. Must be undemanding to prepare, light and keep lit as well.
GH Ennerdale works well for me in this respect. So does Pete's Elizabethan Mixture or Irish Cask. Solani Aged Burley Flake, my first tin of which I started yesterday, might be a contender as well.
Generally, burley, cavendish and perique mixtures work well for me all day.

My idea of an all-day tobacco is something is cheap and plentiful AND I don't have to think about...something I can smoke while working or doing something that requires my attention (like video games) so I don't have to try to pull any flavors or maintain a careful cadence. For that, mine is either Lane BCA or 1Q for aros, or something like Chatham Manor for non-aro.
That said, my "all-day" smoking isn't really all day since, at most, I'll smoke 3-5 bowls. Typically, I'm more like 1-3 with smoking maybe 2-4 times/week. But those would be the ones I'd go to if I were to smoke 5+ bowls/day during those times that I couldn't kick back and relax. The above mention tobaccos don't see the light of day when I have time to smoke and contemplate.

I think Six Pence would be a nice all-day smoke but then again, I only light up two bowls per day.
All day tobacco usually indicates something a person could smoke.. All day. Codger blends usually fit this category. Mild enough not to stress out the mouth, and not very offensive.
2 blends come to mind, for me.

I usually go to a straight forward Oriental bend as an all day smoke.
Nothing too complex and stays lit easily. Also a little lighter on the Vitamin N

I have six blends, all capable of being smoked bowl after bowl. When heading out to shoot I usually grab enough "Three Star Blue" to last the day, 8-10 bowls. But. the choice could just as easily be "Navy Flake", "Balkan Supreme" and so forth from the "chosen few."

Three bowls a day is the most I smoke. And for me, it's more fun to change blends up. But, I could easily enjoy Loch Ness or Margate all day. Usually, I enjoy something stronger for the evenings and lighter for the mornings, but those two stick out as being very versatile.
I don’t smoke anything I can’t smoke all day. Most codger burley blends are good all day smokes though because they are cheap enough to smoke copious amounts of without breaking the bank.
An all day smoke is exactly what it sounds like... something you can smoke all day. I've got a few, all Burley blends, but I smoke Haunted Bookshop like it's going out of style.
MATCH 20 and Peter Stokkebye Vanilla no6 is a wonderful all day smoke as well as Sutliff Christmas Spice.
I have a few depending on what I'm in the mood for and have pipes dedicated to them so if I end up loading one with Peterson Flake it's that all day likewise with Pegasus. But in the morning I usually have coffee with some Five Brothers and some of that at night too.
I keep finding myself always stuffing more PS English Oriental 306 when i cant think of anything in particular i want to smoke.
Sutliff Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match is one. Great flavor, cheap, doesn’t wear out your tongue. It is also easy to obtain.
Peter Stokkebye PS1 Natural and PS301 Natural Dutch Cavendish are easy to grab and smoke any time. I go through a lot of these. The PS1 has a lightly cavendished VA with a very smooth and light topping. PS301 has that same cavendished VA without any topping and a decent pinch of light burley. Both are very smooth and smoke great in any pipe.
