I believe they went to a cut flake in 2018? Not positive. As far as I can tell they didn’t change the recipe at all.

I've been building my cellar tin by tin, so I haven't gone very deep yet. I also smoke way less than many folks, so it hasn't been urgent that I find a blend and go deep on it. Knowing what I know now though, I might be changing my tune!

Bustin' on drummers is just how we do homie! I love me a good drummer, and can always tell the stage is level when they drool out of both sides of their mouth at the same time.

Had an old tin awhile back, very tasty.
Recently had this for the first time last week. Now I'm trying to figure out what the hell I've been doing all this time
I bought two tins on a recent drop... One to smoke, and one to age. I was really expecting to like this blend as I have tended to enjoy the darker, stoves VAs. But the fresh tin has just been... Alright. Not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but nothing all that special either. I enjoy FVF and Marlin Flake quite a bit more in that same kind of stoved/darker VA category. I figured it would age well, and might buy more for just that purpose.

All of my Brigade is a wrap around flake. It looks nothing like the pic above with nicely shaped flakes. I have no idea what that tastes like.
One of the select few blends I have gone deep on, excellent stuff.
I received a tin of this from my secret Santa this year and haven't cracked it yet. No clue how old it is, but judging by the other tins I have opened, it's old. This review makes me want to open it now.
I did have this one written down on my Tabac List, but it’s sounding like a nice aged tin is the way to go. Hmm

Nice review! I cellared several of these targeting 4-5+ years of age. I might have cellared pre 2017 tins more but I never tried them and don't want to fully know what you guys are enjoying. Chasing other blends at the moment.
Cracked my tin tonight. Got some laying out to dry.

It was delicious. Nice dark va with a fermented sweetness. Makes me think of what a well aged Hal o the wynd might taste like. 4/4 stars.
How would one compare this to Capstan blue,?(some year back I succeeded to buy two tins while on travel in Russia)14e each

I don't know, actually. I have a few tins of Capstan blue that are aging as we speak, but I've not tried any yet.
I smoked another bowl tonight. It was terrible! (even better than the first bowl!)
This blend is awful! (as I was smoking it, I kept thinking to myself, this is that ideal aged va flavor you hope for! Sweet, rich, toasty. The lingering aftertaste might be just as good as the smoke. ) I do not recommend this blend to anyone else. It's not worth your trouble. Don't buy any. (no one can read what I put in these brackets right?)
