The whole piece is really well balanced which is something I rarely see in many of the up and coming American carvers. Bonus points for fully finishing mortise face. I would really love to see folks break from tradition and give these things a thin comfortable, no compromise bit. GeorgeD posted photos of a restem job with a saddle stem.
