So I came up to my parents house with my daughter for a day visit in Salado, TX (about an hour drive north of Austin). My Stepfather needed some help with a dresser they needed to pick up from an antique shop so I came along to help out plus I love going to antique shops from time to time. After we put the dresser in the truck we went back in the shop to cool down as it’s one of the hottest days of the year. I come to this shop often to look around but they had a pipe on a shelf that really caught my eye, it was hidden away, I barely even noticed it was there.
To make long story short, I had mentioned the pipe to my Stepdad in passing and while I went off on my own to look around, he went behind my back to buy the pipe and surprised me with it on the ride back to the house! What a freakin score man! I am so stoked about this pipe and what a kind awesome man my stepfather is, I love that man! They were asking $125 for it but he talked them down to $95. It looks like it was smoked maybe once or twice. Not sure if that’s a steal or not but it is in my book as I wasn’t expecting to get a pipe today... let alone a free Mario Grandi pipe! It absolutely cheered up my day.
Here are some pics:
(Oh and it came with a nice
stand too!)
There was another huge... I mean HUGE Viprati Rhodesian pipe there as well, I might go back and buy that one if it’s still there by the time come back for another visit but that one was more of a gimmicky pipe but would make a great display piece.
Anyway, I just thought I would share with you all this nice find, I am tickled to death about it!
