Ok, so I go out to one of the kinda-nearby B&Ms yesterday, on the pretext of buying pipe cleaners. Of course I know that I'm not gonna be able to leave without buying a tin or at the least an ounce of something I haven't tried from the bulk jars, but I tell my girl that I just need pipe cleaners and off I go. Long story short, I get home about 2 hours later with 8oz of Margate, a tin of 965, and an ounce of some in-house English/Aromatic crossover, because I did tell myself I would start branching out. I completely forgot to get pipe cleaners.

Also, this morning I've brought out my tin of DNR for the first smoke of the day, but may trade back for one of my pure virginia flakes... Not sure which... On second thought, I'm not sure if I can wait til lunch time for my perique fix.

I'm a newbie but have already discovered that my morning dark roast, freshly ground and brewing in my press pot, tastes amazing with an English Blend first thing in the morning. Strong dark roasted black coffee and latakia just go in my naive estimation. I've been trying all kinds of different styles to learn what I like and don't like so I don't have tons of English Blends on hand, but I've been enjoying Stratfordshire and Father Dempsey very much thus far.

Father Dempsey never leaves my side on the golf course, and he does go well with espresso and cappucinni.

I've just got my hands on Ralf's Burley Cup (Motzek/TAK). It was apparently made with coffee drinking in mind and, sure enough, I really enjoy it with coffee in the morning. Also it is only 12 and half bucks for 100 grams and that makes me happy. Nice stuff, not just nice for the price.

If I'm having a coffee or tea with cream and sugar, then I like a light latakia blend. Frog Morton Cellar and Iwan Ries Gourmet English are favorites, though both now out of production. If I'm drinking black coffee, then I like to accompany it with a cob full of codger burley.

I no longer smoke in the morning, as I now limit myself to one bowl a day and I usually have that after dinner. But when I did smoke all day, I, like many others here, didn't have any special morning (or afternoon or evening) tobaccos.
The only thing I was careful about was not to smoke anything containing Latakia if I was going to be in close proximity to my wife afterwards. That made my life a whole lot easier.

I've found that I like to graduate up slowly. Something light in the morning (whatever smells good) usually an aromatic that is gentle since I don't want to get more complaints from the coworkers that sit next to me. Moving from lighter flavors up to the darker stronger ones at night, usually finishing with an English something as i'm still doing a lot of exploring.
