I only just in the past month or so started taking pipe smoking seriously, learning all about it and figuring out what I like and what I don't, etc.
I've got a solid understanding of almost everything to it, I believe, except all of the complexities of the tobacco itself of course.
The one thing that is still eluding me, is smoking the whole fill down to ash. I think I've only done this a couple of times in my life.
Usually in the process of cleaning the pipe after I'm done with the smoke I find I've got as much as a quarter of a gram still in there hiding under a pile of ash.
So the story ends with me asking the experienced puffers, is this just a matter of poor technique? Will a pipe have problems if the very bottom of the bowl doesn't regularly get smoked from?
