Hello,
I am not new to the pleasure of pipe smoking.
I would like to get a feedback from the members about 4noggins.com.
I have experienced a strange behavior from them, maybe I am special...
I placed an order over the weekend for the bulk tobacco, expecting that it will be shipped Monday or Tuesday.
When I did not get an acknowledgment on Tuesday I decided to call and left voice mail. No response.
I followed up with email asking them to ship ASAP, because I am running out of tobacco, again no response.
This afternoon I called again and left the message wondering if he is still in the business and he does not respond by phone or email I will cancel the order.
A minute after I hung up the phone I get the notification that the order is cancelled.
Obviously he is listening in real time, does not pick up the phone, nor responds to emails.
Am I the only experienced a such strange behavior?
It is sad to come to across such a business, especially when our hobby is not very popular.

I've never had them take more than a week to get an order shipped, which seems reasonable if it's a small operation. I've heard of people with orders that seem to disappear for weeks on end, that just hasn't been my experience. I know many of us have gotten used to rapid shipping when we buy online, but 3 business days with no "shipped" notification doesn't strike me as outlandish.

In recent months, I've had the same issue with them (sitting on an order without shipping for sometimes a week or more). In the past I've never had these problems with them. It's like they are selling stock they don't have but expect to receive soon, rather than saying they're sold out until they actually receive it. I'm not saying they do that, I just have no other explanation. Again, this is just in recent months. In past years, I never experienced those delays with them.

You aren't alone. I won't waste my time with them again.

Even sure post from P&C seems to work fine for me these days. It took Mike Rutt at Mars two days to get all the Eso orders from the recent drop labeled and shipped, but package arrived in two days just fine. We’ve been spoiled by same or next day shipping, but not THAT Spoiled.

I would say if they can’t respond to repeated inquiries, they don’t deserve your business. I think ther was a post similar to the OP’s here or on another forum within the lasr month or so. Repeated emails and phone calls, nada.

BTW, the OP should never be in a position of running out of tobacco, or admitting it, if he wants to fit in with this crowd.

Back when Rich owned the business...it was great. He knew his customers and would ship when he received the order knowing the customer would have the check in the mail. Now it is owned by Jeff and he is a whole other "business man"...I put it in quotes cause that is what he deserves...it is apparent he doesn't much care if you buy from him or not...so like Chasingembers, not it is!

Once I ordered 20 lbs. of Dark Flake from P&C. The guy said sure, no problem, we'll get that to you. I asked how much do you have on hand. OH, a couple of pounds, and he wants my card number, and although he's saying my card won't be charged, I might notice a hold on funds. I smelled a rat and cancelled everything. I got a hold of a manager and told her what a shady operation she had. She got angry and yelled back.

Despite that I missed out on Russ' tobaccos I never went near them again.

I also wouldn't touch 4noggins. Any order benefiting from communication with them is going to be damaged. His business is overseas. What does he care about the sliver of US business?

Are they doing anything to negatively impact your current pleasure from Pioe smoking? Oh, wait, didn’t you quit?
