Sorry for the thread jack. I meant no harm or offense. Just trying to show by example (photos) is all.
This whole thing got me thinking, though. I've spent over 30 years of my life making pipes, ruining pipes, making mistakes, fixing mistakes and learning from those mistakes. I've aquired tools and machinery, made my own tools, etc. THIRTY YEARS of hard earned knowledge. Over that period, any advice I received from fellow pipe makers was asked for, not freely given. And sometimes NOT given at all. The basic attitude is "I had to figure it out myself, so should you".
I was puzzled by this attitude, but no longer. It might be the right thing to do. It forces the beginner to think, innovate, improvise, to "to think outside the box". Telling someone how to do something "your way" could possibly stifle their growth and creativity. From what we're seeing of Joshs' work, he is definitely figuring it out on his own and rapidly improving. Kudos!
