The best personal result that I ever got was from pulling three half vacuums and breaking it with pure oxygen and then pulling -10 psi vacuum and letting the jars sit in my hot garage.

Are the tins we purchase not vacuum sealed? What percentage of air is removed? Who knows. I also have a jar vacuum sealing contraption. When removing air it only reaches 99%, thus some air is left in the jar. Is 99% too much? I have no idea. All I can say is that so far I am pleased with the results. Much more than food grade bags that are vacuum sealed.
So when you say 99% are you looking at the battery life status and getting it confused? Or is there an actual spot that says it vacuumed sealed to 99%?

I agree. Unfortunately, the myth that aging makes everything better is a hard one to beak. […]
I have to admit that I assumed this in the past. In general I’ve appreciated the affects of aging, but I recently opened a 10-year old jar of Early Morning Pipe and I’ve found that the separate, and distinct ingredients I enjoy have all melded together into a single, unremarkable and somewhat boring flavour. There are of course a multitude of variables at play, so I don’t want to assume that this will always happens with this blend.

I understand that's how, um, let's see... aspiring people might have to do it, but for those who have arrived the best method is to fly the tobacco into space and jar it there, then return the jars to Earth and store them in the NORAD vault in Cheyenne Mountain.
I’d posit that in that case, one would find an argument for the positive effect of radiation stoving….
