Since I'm in the "old" demographic, and my wife is too, as well as in vulnerable health, I couldn't have attended if they'd gone ahead. Just remember to mark it down for next year, some time in April. Things may settle out somewhat in summer, but it may go around again in the fall, or whenever we stop paying attention, I guess. An effective therapy drug and a vaccine are the keys to squashing this bugger. I hope everyone, young and old, hangs around to see it pass.

Surely this mess will be done by end of October? If nopt, I have an extra year to save for it I guess. ?
Probably not. We currently have no defense against the virus except reducing exposure, and keeping our hands disinfected and away from our faces.

How bad is this virus? An article in today's Los Angeles Times recounts what happened to a church choir in Oregon that met for practice a few weeks ago. Everyone used sanitizer, everyone kept their distance as they sang and practiced for 2 1/2 hours. None of the attendees showed any signs of symptoms. Of the 60 people in the choir, 45 fell ill with the virus and 2 have died so far.

As of today, we don't have a vaccine. It may be a year to 18 months before inoculations are widely available. So group activities remain risky until we have a means to fight off the novel coronavirus. I'd give next year's Chicago Show a 50 50 chance at this point. It's going to be a long haul until things return to some sense of "normal".

As more information becomes available it appears that being young doesn't give you any special immunity. Young people are becoming seriously ill and are dying. Not to the same extent than older people, but to a greater extent than was previously thought.

Yep. I don't think the Airplane Sick Bag Collectors annual meet and throw up is happening this year either. I have been searching high and low for a TWA sick bag to complete my collection - well maybe next year!
