It’s a little early, but I’m looking forward to Peterson’s Christmas pipes. I recently received an email from them stated that images would be released soon, and that their pipes should be available mid to late September.

I have several of Savinelli’s Saint Nicholas pipes, but passed this year as I thought they were too similar to their 2017 edition. I haven’t seen anything yet from Chacom Noel, Comoy’s Holiday, etc.

Does anybody have any further insight on design, release dates, etc.? Thx!

I'd have mixed emotions about 2020 pipes of the year and holiday pipes. Good things have happened for me this year, but generally it has not been a happy time. I guess it is good to find happiness where you can. I will certainly take a look when the Petes come out, and that 2018 pipe with the brass band is definitely handsome. Probably better to fan a little breeze on the fires of consumerism, wherever they are kindled.

I’ve had a few back going back to 2015 and they’ve all had the 6mm filter option, however, they include the adapter to go filterless... or you can smoke without the filter or adapter.
Do they smoke ok with the adapter (or nothing) in there, or do they gurgle like hell? If they smoke well, I might grab one.

I have some non-system/filter Petes, Rossis, etc., and the Savinellis with the adapter smoke no different IMO. You might experience some gurgle with a straight pipe, but that could be said w/others as well depending on technique, tobacco, etc. While I prefer the adapter, some enjoy them without as well. With the Savis, you can try all three options and find whichever one you prefer. I’m confident that you’ll find one that you like ?

Castello must feel the same way. It might be more appropriate to commemorate 2020 with one of these beautifully made but hideously adorned "Virus" pipes complete with a gold rendition of what the virus looks like. C_19 Virus Pipe.jpg

There was a spectacular ring grain on an 87 shape that could have passed for a Supreme line sandblast. Lucky to whoever got it There were/are some beauties with gorgeous grain that I looked at and would have got if I wasn't for my ever-growing collection of X105's. Up to 7 now. (Burren, Aran, Dracula, Emerald Fishtail and P-lip, Short, Christmas)

I was glad to see that Peterson not only made the classic shapes, but some pretty harder to comeby shapes (B10, B42, D15, D16, D5 and a Tankard.)

Here's the one I purchased, which I think does a great job at showing some moderate grain with their new sandblasting technique.002-029-54099.8902.jpg002-029-54099_1.4900.jpg

^^^ Nice! Was surprised at how similar they were compared to the previous years... Nonetheless, I’m going to pick up one, but debating the shape.
