2020 Christmas Holiday Pipes

I was just browsing this morning, while drinking coffee in bed with Mrs. Hap, and she looks over and says "you should buy one of those". Far be it from me to disagree.

I've been looking for an army-mount Prince for a while now, and this one spoke to me. Some ok grain too.

Home Depot, Lowes, etc., had their Holiday items out two week ago. Yes, a little early... A decorated Christmas tree next to a skeletons, jack-o-lanterns, and zombies seem odd.

I typically get a holiday pipe every year. I decided that the newly released Peterson was too similar to the previous two years. I actually liked last year’s version better with the lighter color and the gold “P” on the stem, which is missing this year. I ended up purchasing Savinelli’s 602 instead.

My 2018 Peterson 05 just arrived. It has a lovely red stain with black coming through where it was blasted. For some reason the stem was a black one over here. I got a tin of this years Peterson Summertime tobacco to go with it, blackcurrant & apple.

^^^ The ‘18’s are very nice. I like the color, copper plating, and the “P” on the stem.

I liked the looks of both the Petes and the Savs, but ended up picking the Savinelli (616) since I’ve never owned one. And I thought it looked more “Christmasy,” with the red in the band, but not so much so that it would look out of place any other time of the year. Should be on its way now. I rarely buy a pipe over $50, so this was kind of a splurge that I used some of my “welcome back” bonus on.

Yay, it finally arrived... Definitely digging the pearlescent stem. Here are the four that I have out. I have a 2016 packed away w/our Christmas decorations... I think/hope. Savinelli certainly makes festive looking pipes ?
