What you send to get ON the list doesn't have to fit in a box. I heard one guy sent a Ukrainian 'escort' and a case of single malt to get on the list... an antler light fixture is just fine. ;)

Dang! I can't wait to see pics of this two box monstrosity! I'm not in a position to get back on the list yet, but I'm having fun watching this thing keep going and growing! Keep up the good work, brothers!

Hiplains, sorry that I missed your first PM. You are back on the list. Welcome!

It wasn't an entire case. Just a few bottles. Lenochka and I barely got a buzz on before we ran out.

So the boxes (yes 2!) have arrived!

Holy smokes!

image130-600x450.jpg

So the first thing I did was pull a nice piece of Cotton Boll to chew on while I went through the contents. I don't usually use smokeless, but when I do I prefer a finer cut dip to plugs or chew. I am interested to see how this stuff smokes though, heard it's a pretty good kick in the nic.

I'm happy to see that most of the samples I contributed last time around have been depleted, and the remaining ones are mostly done.

Dan put me on task to condense this thing back to one box, as stated in the rules. There are a few doubles that I am combining, a few baggies that only have 1 or 2 bowls that I will be taking out, and a few others that I will remove:

a couple unlabeled samples

a couple '?' marked baggies or 'mystery' blends

Prince Albert, Half & Half, and other OTC's

the russian fags- good smokes, I counted 18 and if I recall correctly, Jason was the only one who mentioned smoking 2 of these the time before last that he had the box, which means participants aren't really sampling the cigarettes.

the 'Box Pass Blend' which I believe to be the culmination of the Lakeland Massacre of '14 which led to the use of mylar bags

some illegible baggies

If anyone on the list objects to the removal of any of the above, please speak now or forever hold your peace.

In the meantime I'm off to do some sampling. Damn this Cotton Boll is some strong stuff...

Dan, I'm back and would like to re-join the box pass if I can? If I can I would really like to try one of those russian cigs. By the way how awesome is this pass? TWO boxes!! Amazing!

Tailgating at a Brad Paisley show. The OGS is just shy of mummy dust. Still an ok smoke but I think it told me just enough to let me know I don't ever need to buy. Catching a pretty good buzz, can't remember if I loaded some Davidoff Flake Medallions or Dunhill Deluxe Navy Rollls. Either way... Charting light was awesome, then nothing compared to Escudo. Must've been Davidoff because I could definitely tell the difference between this and the Navy Deluxe. Rest of the night is non box pass blends. Won't have the focus I'd like to have. Night y'all.

Werebear... The Russian Fags will remain in the box.

Coconut twist- really wanted to like this, but am really happy i got to sample this before buying. I've heard that that the sweet flavorful coconut was only present during the beginning of the bowl. Was able to detect it throughout the bowl and was waiting for it to disappear. I guess I was hoping to find a strong blend with a decent room note but kept looking for the natural tobacco flavors I usually expect out of ropes and never got there.

Velven Plug- very good. I enjoy prepping plugs and enjoyed this immensely. Would like it even more if i hadn't tried Condor Plug 1st, which is out of this world amazing. Will try Warrior plug next.

Thank you for that. I have not tried the Cocoanut Twist yet...and now I have a justification for my tardiness. Post your take on Warrior, please.

I like coconut a lot. I wouldn't mind trying that twist. I am also super excited by the various plug tobaccos. I never get to try those either.

I myself was pleasantly surprised with the bowl I shaved off the Warrior Plug. Va/Bur is a very hit or miss category for me as I don't always do well with Burley. The WP was surprisingly smooth yet retained the deep tobacco flavors one would expect from a Va/Bur. The topping worked well with the tobacco and did not detract. It does not shock me this blend has stood the test of time and I wish American pouch tobacco was as good.

Well put. My take on WP exactly.

WP- daimyo nailed it. Tin note was all raisins that translated to a deep but soft, sweet smoke. Sliced it thin and rubbed it out and was surprised at how light some of the layers were in that dark brown plug.

Its good to here that there are some plugs this pass. I've tried the Mighty Condor plug, and a dry bit of Warrior plug, but I've barely even heard of Velven plug. How was it?

Its Ok if you like that sort of thing. I personally think Velvan is a bit overrated. Hang on a second Werebear I thought you had never tried Condor plug before?

Got to smoke that 2020 finally woods. I had it this morning thinking it could be a breakfast blend. It was a bit to assertive on the Virginia side for that purpose but I love Va's so I didn't mind. Classic McC Va's up front at first with the condiment tobaccos present but hanging in the back, about half way through they came forward more and the Va's settled down. Ended up being a very smooth and easy going smoke towards the last third of the bowl. I will definitely try more and I could see this aging well.
