I'll change mine to just 20 pounds of Condor Plug. Literally all I need in my pipe, give me Condor Plug and I'm a happy man. The longer I continue down this path of being a pipe smoker the more I notice myself getting codgerly. I had several years of wanting to try it all and after awhile you begin to realize that most tobaccos blends just get redundant and then you get bored with your rotation. The good news is that within my time of experimentation I have found my favorite blend(s). The bad news is, I still have a shit load of tobacco that I need to smoke until I whittle down my stash to just my absolute favorites. Life is too short to smoke average tobacco.

I agree, which is why I'm stashing a few favorites. It's not so much that other options are bad, but that there are some that are excellent.

Apologies for the old thread revival... I was looking through past threads and found this great thread.
It was fun to read the responses.....and it was very interesting to see how few people would have put away any McClellands blends!

This would have made a great social experiment in how the desirability changes based on availability / scarcity.

I'm with Weezeel...18#s of Condor Long Cut, 1# of Condor Plug, 1# of Stonehaven. Pure bliss.

Sure glad I built up the cellar before McCl. and Dunhill went under. 70#'s should last me at the age of 74.

Don’t most of is smoke 12 lbs a year? Anyways, as long as we’re talking hypotheitical and such, because this sort of gives me anxiety, ha ha.
2lbs Vanilla Cream Flake

1lbs Mango Flake

1lbs PS Dark fired

1lbs Aurora

1lbs Red Ribbon

1bs Dark Star

1lbs LTF

1lbs Escudo

1lbs Haddos Delight

2lbs Dark Flake unscented
But, I still feel all empty and unsatisfied. :puffy:

Just as a counterpoint, it is the blends that wouldn't make my list, that aren't strictly speaking (or at all) on my rotation that keep life interesting with the occasional change of pace. Generous people have sent me blends like Drawing Room, Thanksgiving Day, Petit Robin, and even 1Q, and while none of these is a weekly smoke, they brighten my piping, those glimmers that accent my usual favorites. When I lit up a bowl of 1Q lately, my wife called from the next room to let me know how good it smelled.

I have another that I really like right now which could easily replace the Haddos, but don't want to post about it so when it comes back in stock, it doesn't disappear (hysteria right?).
And I also have in route a box of FVF...my hopes are high, but we shall see if it lives up to the hype.

Reviewing my list from 7 months ago, I'd pretty much keep it as it is, except that I'd split the amount of McCranie's in half, to allow for a pound of McClelland 40th, which I hadn't yet smoked when I posted this thread, and I'd split the GL Pease Telegraph Hill amount in half to make room for McClelland 2015.
And of course, this being a "what if" thread, I'd be able to restock anything I wanted every five years, including the McClelland blends.
