I enjoyed the few oz of 1Q I tried. PS Optimum was similiar IMO and very nice as well. Both are lite, easy and pleasing to me and those around me. Enjoy!

I have a bunch of tins that I use as sampling tobacco, and a few tins that have made it into my cellar that I am excited about opening down the road. However, 1Q is the only tobacco that I always seem to have on hand and open. Its good to smoke, and I find that by standers and equally as pleased by the aroma.

Nice room note, nice taste. Good for a treat now and then for me. I prefer VA's but I enjoy a bowl of 1-Q now and then.

You can't knock success! Lane hit a jack-pot with this blend. It is sold by B&M's all across the country under hundreds of different names. It is a fine light, attractive and satisfying aromatic. You really can't go wrong with it. There are also many others as mentioned that I agree with, as well. But, Lane has marketed this blend across the country. It has many devoted followers who smoke it from their B&M under a different name and they don't even know they are smoking 1-Q! And, there is nothing wrong with that, either. Enjoy!

IQ was the first smoke I tried on day number one of my great pipe smoking adventure. Its still favored but not at the top of my list.

I'm biased, of course, since I do the brand management for Lane, but this was my go to smoke long before I worked there and it's still my 'stuck on a desert island' smoke. As I've been broadening my palate over the past year, however, I do find myself leaning towards blends with a bit more body and/or straight tobacco taste.
We don't have hard and fast numbers on Lane 1Q regarding it's market share, but from all reports it's the #1 selling bulk pipe tobacco.

I dont know that I have ever tried it either. A lot of dfferent B&Ms mix their own variants, but I dont know that I have had the real thing.

Yuck! I'd rather smoke frog turds! And this from a guy who smokes OTC's 90% of the time! I rank it just above M79 and anything with perique.
