(As the title suggests) some of you with an interest in the historical side of things will find this video amusing.

Synopsis (from the website): "New York: Wilke Pipe Shop in Midtown Manhattan. Woman in front of many jars of tobacco. Woman weighs shag tobacco. Tobacco is put into a bag and then a tin with label. Woman smells tobacco and inspects pipes. Man looks at new pipe design. Joe begins with a block of briar root to make a pipe. Pipe being made on a lathe. Mouthpiece is attached. Man comes into pipes shop to buy a pipe. Woman stands in front of a wall covered with pipes. A man inspects the pipe."

I just bought some tobacco from them over the phone. They're not in New York anymore and it's taking a while to get it.
Does anyone know at the very end of the film, about the comment not using a varnish, because the pipe will taste sweeter? Is that a varnish on the outside of the pipe,?
