I do not want to derail anything but I kinda want to put this out.

People are most often victims of their behavior before, during and after a fire.

Pets are mostly innocent victims of fire, with the exception of medium to large sized dogs.

Here’s a real scenario. The owner leaves pizza boxes or some other combustible on a stove top. The dog then, in an attempt to get the pizza, manipulates the switch knobs (Infinity switches) with its paws and inadvertently turns on the burners. This in turn ignites the combustible material.

There is a fire safety warning. You’re welcome.

ashdigger, any fire safety advice you can drop into these threads will be all to the good. People feel comfortable about their uses of fire. It's the subtle little mistakes that can ignite the whole place. The dog and pizza box scenario is so common it's even in a TV commercial. Smoking in bed, especially after a few drinks is another.

First off, Lol at not wanting to detail what already began off the rails.

Secondly, been there done that! When our Yellow lab was 1 we left the house only to find everything taken off the kitchen counters and strewn about the house when we came home. He also managed to light 2 or 3 burners on the stove, but fortunately nothing was on it at the time. For the next three years we had baby-proof handles on the burner knobs.
